Dana reviews Seduction in Red by D.T. Peterson (Published by D.T. Peterson, Sept 23, 2014, 192 pages)
Why I read this: I had a sneak peak at this story in it’s early stages so when we received a copy in exchange for an honest review, I was excited to volunteer to be the one to read it.
Synopsis: Trevor is young, rich and single; completely open about who he is and unwilling to hide it from anyone. Cody is shy and inexperienced, exploring the desires he secretly craves to fulfill for the first time. Together, they venture down a path neither of them could have ever imagined… .

My thoughts: Right from the beginning of the book, I was drawn into the story. Cody was a character my feelings went back and forth for a few times. He was struggling to be his true self but some of his deceptions were painful for the people in his life as well as Trevor. Trevor was a great character, always true to himself and to Cody.
Though I haven’t read the authors previous work, I had heard that this book was very different. There were definitely some hot moments between the characters, things I definitely haven’t read in any other book so far. At some times, though, Trevor’s and Cody’s sex life seemed excessive. I don’t expect a work of fiction to be extremely realistic but boy those boys could go on and on and on. I really bought into the chemistry between the two men though.
Though the synopsis of the book doesn’t go into a lot of detail, there were a lot of twists and turns in the story for Trevor and Cody. It’s impossible to discuss them fully without giving away too much. The end had a surprise that I felt could have been explored a little further, drawn out a little longer. I can definitely say I was never bored with this book at all. I really enjoyed the story.
That being said, there were definitely editing issues in this story, and some over usage of certain words and descriptions. It wasn’t enough to take away from the story, as I said I was never bored, but they were noticeable enough that I felt it needed to be mentioned as part of the fair and honest review. I would still recommend the book to fans of the author’s first book, The Cove, as well as someone who hasn’t read his work yet.
