The MCB Quarterly: Giving Voice to LGBTQ Fiction
a quarterly online magazine
We want your LGBTQ short stories 10,000 words and under. This is truly a LGBTQ call. We want well written, solid fiction short stories featuring all kinds of LGBTQ characters to share with readers as a quarterly eMagazine. The stories will be released quarterly as a bundle starting next year. So get your typing fingers ready.
Got a short story about a gay cop in the SF police force? Great. A lesbian attorney fighting a corrupt corporation? Fabulous. A transwoman moving to a new, small town that has secrets? We want her.
No sex? That’s all right. Don’t get us wrong. We won’t turn away stories with hot and heavy content, but the emphasis is on the fiction. All sub-genres are welcome as well – please send your science fiction, your fantasy, your horror, your steampunk, and so on. As long as the main character(s) is LGBTQ, we want a crack at it.
No HEA/HFN? That’s okay, too. We all appreciate a ‘Happily Ever After’ as much as the next reader but it isn’t a necessity. A good fiction story with a solid LBGTQ MC is what we want.
The first submission call for the MCB Quarterly ends in October. So polish up your short and send it our way.
What are we offering? How do you submit? Details below.
MCB QUARTERLY Submissions
What to expect:
1. Stories will be paid a flat fee per word at the time of contract (per industry standard), and released quarterly as a bundle. A standard contract will be issued for the story.
2. We provide the editing, formatting, and cover art as well as marketing.
3. You will be provided with author eCopies of the finished product.
How to submit:
1. Format your documents (*.doc or *.docx files only) as follows: Author Name/Title/Page # upper right hand corner, 12 pt TNR, 1″ margin, 1.5 spacing, .25 paragraph indent – no spacing or tabs please.
2. The body of the email should include word count, genre and sub-genre (if applicable), a one paragraph summary, legal name and pseudonym (if applicable), and an email where we can contact you.
3. As stated above, we are not going to turn away content with erotic elements but the emphasis is on the fiction. We want short stories with diversity.
4. Submit stories in their entirety to: submission.mischiefcornerbooks@gmail.com Attn: MCB Quarterly Submissions Call. You should receive an automatic notice letting you know we have received your submission. If not, send a query to us.
5. No simultaneous submissions, please, or submissions of stories currently carried or soon to be released with other publishers.

Wilde City Press
Wilde City Press publishes multiple genres of fiction featuring gay male protagonists under one of several separate and distinct ‘lines’ all available from a single site. We currently accept submissions for publication in print and electronic formats including both e-books and audio books.
Our 3 major lines or base categories include:
- Mainstream Gay Fiction (also referred to as Lit-Fic)
- Gay Romance (also referred to as M/M Romance)
- Gay Erotica
Each of our new releases will fit into one of those three base categories and will then include any other sub-genre tags from there. As an example, a contemporary story like To Catch a Fox, that doesn’t necessarily follow the ‘rules of romance’ would be categorized under the Mainstream category, but since it does include a strong romantic storyline it would then be tagged with a Romance subgenre, along with Mystery, Thriller, Action, etc. To the consumer on our site, they’ll see that it isn’t a traditional romance but it does feature elements of such and readers can then make an informed decision as to whether or not to purchase.
While we want to allow authors the final word on what sort of book they intend to publish, they can’t have it both ways. If a book doesn’t fit into the ‘rules of romance’ (HEA, HFN, Cheating, etc.) then we will not market it as Romance. The book will have to be published under the mainstream umbrella with a romance subgenre tag where fitting.
We do require our published titles to feature one or more gay male protagonists; however, we do not limit our titles to ONLY featuring gay male protagonists. In addition to one or more gay male protagonists, manuscripts may also feature characters representing the full GLBTQ spectrum as well as our straight allies.
We publish single titles from 12k words on up and will issue paperback print-on-demand for titles between 50k – 130k words.
Anthologies, Series & Re-releases:
Wilde City Press will accept one or more previously published manuscripts from a single author that meet the above guidelines, assuming the author is willing to also submit at least one unpublished manuscript of equal or greater length within a 2 year time frame.
We welcome Series proposals as well as Serials which meet our submission guidelines.
We also welcome Anthology proposals that meet the above guidelines.
While Wilde City doesn’t wish to make blanket denials over specific topics as there are typically exceptions to nearly every rule, if topics such as rape or sex between minors are included within the pages of your manuscript, it should be integral to plot or characterization and should not be described for the sole purpose of arousing the reader.
We do not publish categorized Young Adult at this time. Because we do sell Erotica from the WCP site, we feel it inappropriate to also market to a Young Adult audience. That being said, we do not require that all submissions include on-page erotic content.
If you are interested in sending Wilde City a manuscript please submit the following proposal package:
- A query letter including your name, contact e-mail, the name & word count of your manuscript. Please include a short blurb detailing the premise and genre of your story.
- A full synopsis or a plot-point bullet list that outlines the story.
- The first 3 chapters of your manuscript.
You may email your proposal package directly to submissions@wildecity.com.
We do not accept simultaneous submissions. We do not wish to waste any authors time and sincerely appreciate the same respect and consideration from the authors submitting their work to us. If you decide to submit to WCP please make sure you do not send your manuscript to any other publishers before or during the time we have it under review. We will make every effort to get back to you within a 4 week time frame.
If you do not receive confirmation that we have received your submission proposal within seven days, please e-mail a second inquiry to ethan@wildecity.com.
If you have not heard back from us within four weeks after confirmation that your submission has been received, please inquire by e-mailing submissions@wildecity.com.
AMBER ALLURE

Submission Type: Gay (M/M) Stories – Hollywood / Movie Stars / Motion Picture Industry Romances
Length: 11,000 – 17,999 words (Extended Amber Kiss), 18,000 – 39,999 words (Novella), or 40,000 words – 165,000 words (Novel)
Heat Level: Although we publish stories that fall into all Heat Level Rating categories, please note that we prefer stories with the highest Heat Level Rating of 3+ (Love scenes should be extremely explicit and contain graphic language. Stories may also contain sexual situations or storylines that push the envelope—heavy bondage, spanking, as well as ménage, domination and submission, multiple sexual partners, etc.).
Note regarding sexual content: Although subplots featuring hetero (M/F) or ménage (M/M/F, M/F/M, etc.) pairings may be acceptable for secondary characters, they should not take up more than a small percentage of the overall story. The heroes (the main focus of each submission) must be strictly gay and not bisexual—they should have no sexual desire for females. For storyline purposes, your heroes may have a history of heterosexual or bisexual activity, but generally, they are now either fully out of the closet or will be fully out before the story concludes. Your heroes, however, may participate in gay ménage (M/M/M) or all-male group sex. Again, all “female” involvement within the story should be kept to a minimum, and when it comes to your heroes, all sexual content should be M/M only.
Specific Guidelines: The movie industry and Hollywood life has always been a rich source for personal drama among its denizens, especially gay actors desperately attempting to hide their true natures from the fickle and (mostly in past decades) the unforgiving public. Whether the proverbial casting couch comes into play among studio executives and struggling actors looking for that one big break, or gossip rags hound the glamorous stars in order to catch them in embarrassing moments, or secret and forbidden love affairs have a way of shattering fragile careers, the movie industry has everything any fiction author needs to create a story filled with intrigue, scandal, and blistering sexual escapades. Contemporary stories are preferred, yet nostalgic contemporary stories revolving around the days of the silent era or early talkies are also welcome, as well as tales relating to Hollywood’s golden age. Additionally, sub-genres of BDSM, Mystery, and Suspense, etc. are also acceptable. Moreover, all stories should have a “happily ever after” ending, or at least what is considered a “happily for now” conclusion. If the story being submitted is part of a planned series of books, that is also acceptable, but please send only the first book within the series (also see next paragraph).
Important notes: Amber Allure will not consider any previously published stories, therefore each submission should include only new material. Additionally, the submission should not be part of a series published at another house. Only completed manuscripts will be accepted for consideration. Please also include a detailed synopsis of the manuscript as well as a query letter. And finally, no simultaneous submissions please.
Deadline for Submissions: December 31, 2014
Email Address: After preparing your documents according to the “Overall Submission/Formatting Info” listed above, please submit the full manuscript, synopsis, and query letter to:

Gay (M/M) Slave To My Desires Submissions |
Submission Type: Gay (M/M) Stories – BDSM Romances
Length: 11,000 – 17,999 words (Extended Amber Kiss), 18,000 – 39,999 words (Novella), or 40,000 words – 165,000 words (Novel)
Heat Level: Although we publish stories that fall into all Heat Level Rating categories, please note that we prefer stories with the highest Heat Level Rating of 3+ (Love scenes should be extremely explicit and contain graphic language.
Specific Guidelines: As the title and theme suggests, all stories must focus heavily on BDSM elements and include a “slave/master” relationship between your heroes. Is one of your heroes a king or prince who just cannot keep his hands off one of the lowly yet hot-as-hell servants? Does one of your heroes yearn to be controlled by a sexy and domineering master? Do your heroes have a fetish for leather, whips, and chains, with one longing to play the passive role and pleasuring his master at all costs? Stories may be Contemporary (preferred), Historical, and also include other sub-genres, such as Fantasy, Paranormal, etc. Moreover, all stories should include a “happily ever after” ending, or at least what is considered a “happily for now” conclusion. If the story being submitted is part of a planned series of books, that is also acceptable, but please send only the first book within the series (also see next paragraph).

RIPTIDE PUBLISHING
Riptide is happy to announce that we’re accepting new submissions for completed LGBTQ manuscripts between 15,000 and 115,000 words starting August 1, 2014! You no longer have to be invited or represented by an agent to submit your manuscript. (Please note that open submissions will close from time to time, according to volume, to all but invited and agented authors.)
All manuscripts should be complete, and edited and polished to the best of your ability. Please check the “Submission Instruction” tab for more details on how to submit your manuscript.
In addition, we have specific, themed calls for submissions, sometimes for standalone pieces, and sometimes for collections or anthologies. Please view the “Open Calls” tab on this page to learn more about those calls.
SHIFTERS AND WERES
Whether bound to the lunar cycle or able to shift at will, werewolves or weresquid (and wherever your imagination might take you with all those tentacles!), skinwalkers or humans who can change their faces, we want to get to know your shifter society. Are they out? Hidden? Hated? Revered? Maybe they fight crime, or maybe they cause it. Maybe they just want to be left alone, or maybe they are (or are trying to be) the dominant species.
Our key desire in this call is a mythos that sets your story apart from the thousands of other shifter stories already published. Abandon those tired old A/B/O tropes and bring us something fascinating and fresh.
Romance is necessary, but it need not be the central focus. Frequent erotic content is welcome, as is creative sex (sex in shifted or semi-shifted form is fine as long as your shfiters retain sentience and are capable of consent, even if consent is not given), but please don’t send us erotica—in other words, the central relationship must not be driven by and explored primarily with sex). If your mythos calls for celibacy, that’s okay too. The mythos is the star of this show, so be sure it wows us.
Have you written a novel-length lesbian romance? We want it! Any genre, any setting, any focus. Historical lesbians, contemporary lesbians, lesbians in suspense, romantic comedy lesbians, paranormal lesbians, futuristic lesbians. Any and all lesbian romance, send it our way.
This is an open-ended call; you may submit at any time. Earliest potential closing date for this call is March 1, 2015, though we may elect to run it longer.
We want to explore all the colors of the rainbow that aren’t gay and lesbian: bisexual, trans, queer, nonbinary, ace spectrum, etc. Your characters’ sexual and/or gender identity can either be central to the story or present but not the focus, but otherwise, genre is wide open. Let’s give everyone their happy ever after.
This is an open-ended call; you may submit at any time. Earliest potential closing date for this call is March 1, 2015, though we may elect to run it longer.
We’re seeking sweet romances: any orientation, any topic, any genre . . . zero explicit sex. Fade to black is fine, as is no sex at all. We want teen-appropriate stories, even if the stories themselves are not actually YA or NA.
This is an open-ended call; you may submit at any time. Earliest potential closing date for this call is March 1, 2015, though we may elect to run it longer.
Steampunk, dieselpunk, biopunk, cyberpunk, even nanopunk and nowpunk. Give us your dystopias, your body mods, your corsets and goggles, your clockwork Westerns and airship wars with bioengineered pilots. In this call, the world is key. Build it brick by brick—or cog by gear—and immerse us in it. Show us how love blooms among the steam and gaslight.
We’re seeking romances or erotic romances, but not erotica. Brilliant plots and worlds with romantic elements rather than full-blown romances may also catch our eye. Any heat level is fine, but if sex happens, make absolutely certain it fits well within and contributes to the world you’ve created.
R&P is a small press centering on mainstream, YA, Children’s and erotic fiction. We publish all genres.
We now accept partial manuscripts. In the body of the email just let us know when your estimated completion date will be and your estimated word count.
We accept story lengths as follows:
- Short stories: 5,000 to 19,999 words
- Novellas: 20,000 to 49,999 words
- Novels: 50,000 to 100,000+ words
Novella submissions of 30,000 words or more will be offered in e-book and print.
M/M Anthology Calls
Victimized
It starts with an insult.
The smallest of ridicules take root planting the seed of self doubt and shame. Days turn into weeks but the emotional blows keep coming. Self doubt digresses to shame. Soon the physical blows solidify one’s self contempt. Eventually, shame mutates into a morbid thing called self destruction. What defines a person is their ability to overcome.
Abuse is often overlooked but most often missed in the gay community. Rooster and Pig wants your stories of men overcoming their abusers. Subgenres are welcome but please no paranormal, science fiction or futuristic genres. We want stories as close to reality as possible. We are also aware that abuse often (and in most cases does) leads to rape but please only include rape in your story if it furthers the plot. These are not erotic dubious consent stories of seduction. These stores are about awareness. This anthology is more than just writing a story, this is an outlet for a potentially abused reader to find the strength they need to seek help.
All proceeds, minus the fees taken by our merchant account and PayPal will be donated to a domestic violence shelter that helps not only women and children in domestic violence situations but men as well. Neither Rooster & Pig nor any of the participating authors of this anthology will retain any money made. Authors should be aware and acknowledge this when submitting their stories to Rooster & Pig Publishing. R&P is asking for two years exclusive anthology publishing rights to all accepted stories to the anthology.

A Circus Art
The allure and mystery of the circus, it’s the place children want to run away to and adults want to visit. Tricks, exotic animals, and strange performers, not to mention the cotton candy and treats, draw the crowd in. But, more so are the unknowns.
What happens behind the scenes? Is it as glamorous as the center ring or is it all back breaking work? Do the stars get off easy? Or, is everyone equal? What problems arise from so many dynamics? More so, the romance?
R&P wants your stories of romance. Are they established lovers? Does the new guy have a crush on the lion tamer? Whether set in the 1950s railroad, the modern circus set up in parking lots and hauled away by eighteen wheelers, or a futuristic unknown circus; romance is always center ring. Give us your best gay romance.

America’s Anthem
Soldiers risk their lives to keep America safe. To serve and protect one’s country is the ultimate sacrifice. Consequently, a soldier’s love life is complicated, even more so when he’s gay.
“Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” kept many gay soldiers silent. Even now, with the law disbanded, the fear of his fellow soldier finding out keeps his secret.
But what if our soldier found his love in the middle of a skirmish? Secretly watched his platoon mate from affair? Is his love stateside and the two constantly worry over each other? Does our soldier worry his love won’t wait for him? Or the ultimate betrayal, fell in love with the enemy?

UBUNTU-STORIES OF AFRICAN ROMANCE
Africa… Land of the Serengeti, of wide savannas, where exotic wild animals like giraffes stroll through your backyard…
If this is your idea of modern Africa, you’d be way off the mark! Ubuntu (“I am what I am because of who we all are.”) embraces the notion of community, of roots, of spreading your arms open in welcome. Our stories from the Ubuntu line will reflect this philosophy, and take you to Africa to meet the people from that far-away, unknown-to-many land.
Take a peek at modern Africa. This is a world where, on the backdrop of the famine crisis in Darfur and Somalia, of political unrest in countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo and Egypt, millions step into the global village and embrace the fast-paced life offered by technology and the Internet. Multinational companies have offices in many African capitals, opening the way for a slew of expatriates to settle in those countries, where the world’s biggest brand names like Hugo Boss and Lacoste are opening outlets.
Don’t also forget that Africa is not only the black continent – a handful of islands make up the African territory, as well. From minerals-rich Madagascar (and the land of Black Magic, still practiced to this day!) to tourist hot-spots like Mauritius, the Seychelles, and the Maldives – islander culture opens up another world to exploit in your writing. And in the top, northern parts of Africa, meet the Arab world in the countries of the Maghreb (Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, among others).
With its rich history, Africa has native African clans and tribes, colonist white populations – British, French, and Afrikaners –Indian-origin people who emigrated as traders and/or indentured labor, Chinese people who came in as traders.
We want to see your stories set in any of these locations. Whether your characters are expats, foreigners on a visit, native Africans (of black, white, Indian, Chinese, Arab, etc, descent!), show us the true face of Africa as people experience it every day. We want to see what is different, interesting, horrifying and fabulous about Africa. We want “can’t put the book down” conflict and tension specific to Africa – like finding love while working in a refugee camp or working at an HIV education clinic, Peace Corps, fighting gun runners, pirates, etc. The options are as rich and diverse as the country itself.
LENGTH: 10-65k
HEAT LEVEL: 1-5
SUB-GENRES ACCEPTED: Interracial, contemporary, multicultural, sweet romance, suspense, LGBT, ménage
TO SUBMIT: Email submissions@decadentpublishing.com to request a submissions form. Please note that it is for the UBUNTU line when submitting.

• While college life does have a seedier aspect, including sexual harassment and assault, no successful rape tales will be accepted. Avoiding rape, being saved from it, or turning the tables on a rapist are encouraged
• All sex should be portrayed as safe sex, including condoms (exceptions may be made only based on story context, but be prepared to hear ‘no.’)
• Internal series within a series are welcome, be prepared with potential story ideas for future books if submitting a series within a series. Please note: all books are considered individually and future submissions are not guaranteed acceptance.

• Longer stories will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Heroes for Decadent Roar are tough, independent, and making a place for themselves in the world. They may have alpha tendencies, but they are also capable of being vulnerable, caring, and generous.
Heroines for Decadent Roar are complex, savvy, and curious about the world they are exploring. It may be their first time on their own, they may be straining at the jesses or desperate to return to the safety of the pack—but they are also eager to discover. It is her independent nature and intelligence that makes her desirable.
In a Decadent Roar, the hero and the heroine are equally important. They should be the characters you wanted to know, to discover, and to learn about the world alongside.
Decadent Roar is…
Felicity, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Kindred the Embraced, Charmed, Teen Wolf—
When you think about going to college it’s about independence, beginning a new chapter in your life and being an “adult” for the first time. While you still rely on your parents, you’re truly spreading your wings and the bumps and bruises along the way can have a very real impact on your future.
Details:
ROAR is the business name of the shifter hotline.
555-ROAR
About:At the heart of the 555-ROAR are a mysterious, nearly androgynous pair named Hui and Min. Available by text, phone call, Skype or Facebook page, this pair are considered neutral territory to all shifter and were packs regardless of alliance or wars. Established as a hotline, ROAR answers the needs of the young shifter—whether it’s locating a safe place to hunt, to meet, to mingle, or simply to get advice—and even if a character is stranded, Hui and Min may be able to send someone to help.
ROAR is run by Hui and Min. They will not appear in person. Very little is known about the pair, or what type of shifters they might be. They can be reached from anywhere in the world and they are the only two who will ever answer the requests. We will not make any exceptions, so please don’t ask.
Hui and Min are Asian, they seem rather androgynous though Hui is definitely the more male of the two while Min ‘seems’ female.
Phone calls are allowed, but Hui and Min’s conversations on the phone will be brief. They may or may not respond in later fashion either with a text or email.
Neither Hui nor Min have any known pack mates or siblings. No one knows who they ‘belong’ to if any, but even the alphas respect them. They do not interfere in pack politics or wars. Though if a young shifter calls them for help to get away, they may send a car to let that shifter relocate or hook them up with a stronger shifter who can help.
Neither Hui nor Min will ever send someone ‘evil’ to help. They know what they’re doing. They also don’t offer bad advice. They will also not be ‘fooled’ by requests from those meaning to do ‘harm.’
Stories may involve characters from other planets or dimensions, but the story takes place in the CONTEMPORARY setting with strong paranormal elements. No dimension-hopping or time-traveling allowed—though if a character is extremely old and a flashback is appropriate, that will be considered on a story-by-story basis.
All ROARs should have a distinct HEA ending.
We don’t consider queries, proposals or partial manuscripts, nor do we consider a manuscript that is simultaneously submitted to other publishers. All manuscripts must be complete and submitted along with a submission form, which can be obtained by requesting one at: submissions@decadentpublishing.com

The Legacy Club
About:At the Legacy, the members may have things more unusual in common than exclusive bloodlines or shared memories of freshman year at Harvard. The club is for the ultra-wealthy, new or old money. It’s an exclusive membership—and it costs.
Membership:Members don’t apply—they are invited. No one knows the exact criteria except for the Board of Directors. To receive an invitation indicates the prospective member has reached a pinnacle of success. The cost to join: a $100,000 initiation fee and $25,000 a year thereafter. Although the club doesn’t advertise, some of the city’s greatest charitable benefactors are found on the club’s rolls leading some to conclude that it is the great acts of charity and commitment to community that earn an invitation.
Concierge:Killian. First or last name—nobody knows for sure, but it’s the only name he goes by. As the club concierge, he’s indispensable. He may hold mail for absentee tenants and look after their apartments, provide information to residents and guests, provide access to and will enforce club rules, and act as a go-between for residents and management. He can find just about anything, knows just about everyone, remembers everything he hears, and is discreet to a fault.
At six-foot, he’s tall, well spoken and has no trace of an accent. He speaks multiple languages fluently, and appears somewhere in his late thirties, early forties. He is not a romantic interest, no exceptions, and will rebuff politely, any romantic overture made toward him. He takes his work very seriously and is personable, but maintains a cool politeness in even the most volatile of situations. No one’s fool, people trying to ‘sneak’ onto the grounds will find that Killian removes them before they can get past the lobby.
Amenities:The Legacy Club has its own restaurant, terrace, bar, lounge and private dining room. Privileged members have access to spas, salons, barbers, fitness room, private trainers, masseuse therapists and more. Members also have access to speakers, rare art, artists, and even a satellite office to handle business while visiting. The Legacy Club maintains the latest sports vehicles that can be ‘rented’ from the club for the duration of a stay.
Dress code:No dress code is required for Legacy members outside of one or two of the private dining rooms where formal attire is expected.
For The Street:Chances are, Legacy members will rub elbows with the world’s wealthiest men and women. Business may be conducted and members are allowed to ‘rent suites’ if they are visiting from out of town. No one enters the Legacy without membership and visitors are limited to specific areas only when vouched for by a member.
We don’t consider queries, proposals or partial manuscripts, nor do we consider a manuscript that is simultaneously submitted to other publishers. BEYOND FAIRYTALES
Are you up for a challenge? Can you write a romance based on an assigned Grimm’s Fairytale? Yes. Then email me for your tale acquisitions@decadentpublishing.com
LENGTH: 15-65k
HEAT LEVEL: 3-5
SUB-GENRES ACCEPTED: All sub-genres of romance.
These rules apply:
• You are assigned a fairy tale from the list of Grimm’s tales by an Acquisitions editor upon request. Bear in mind, this does not guarantee a contract. The final version needs to be submitted within 6 months from time of assignment. The manuscript will be read for approval, or revision and resubmission, and yes, if not up to standards, rejection. So make sure you bring your A game and have your critique partner(s) go over it before you send. Any rejected manuscripts will have their fairytale reassigned to another author. The purpose of the assigned tales is to avoid a Galaxy full of Cinderellas.
• It must be a twisted version of a Grimm’s Fairytale, in any of the romance genres and sub-genres. The names of the characters don’t have to be the same, but something in the title needs to reflect the fairytale, and the story should have elements within it that tie it to the original fairytale. For instance, Red Riding hood might be a fighter pilot named Captain Rider who flies for the Universal League and her nemesis is called The Wolf.
• All stories reference Nicodemus, the storyteller. Please visit FAQ on our Beyond Fairytales blog to learn more about him. Beyond Fairytales Blog. Authors should not add or change things about him. Who or what he is, where he comes from, are a mystery. Heat ratings will range from 3 to 5. The stories can take place on earth, in space, or on another world, or even in a alternate universe, but please reference the story teller somewhere in your tale.
• Decadent submission guidelines apply. Please read over what we will and will not accept. Fairytale rules also apply. The tales start with the classic Once upon a time…. We will also expect to see happily ever afters—or happy for now, endings. How you get there, is up to you, but end them on a happy note.
TO SUBMIT: Email submissions@decadentpublishing.com to request a submissions form.
Please specify this is for the Beyond Fairytales series.

WAYWARD PUBLISHING
Wayward Ink Publishing has two distinct arms to its publications:
GLBT FICTION and GLBT ROMANCE.
We are seeking GLBT stories in all genres for both arms.
Download Fiction Submission Guidelines (PDF)
Currently, most GLBT fiction focuses on romance and erotica. But not all stories that need to be told include a romance. Action adventures, crime dramas, stories of a dystopian future, don’t always have or require a romantic component. And GLBT fiction should be no different.
We at Wayward Ink would like to offer the opportunity for authors to write their dark, gritty crime novels, tight, tense suspense thrillers, and epic battles led by gay generals without the demand to include a romantic subplot in order to become be published.
In other words, we want to show the world gay men and women in positive and inspiring roles. We want to see strong gay and lesbian protagonists without always throwing in a gratuitous love interest. We want to encourage authors to write the story they see, not the one they think will sell.

About Our Books
Loose Id takes romance to the edge: the edge of the genre, the edge of convention, the edge of the abyss. And then we throw it right on in. A Loose Id romance is deliberately, specifically, and insistently erotic. It ought to make you blush and squirm in your seat, while keeping you turning pages because you have to find out what happens next.
We’re looking for stories that unleash the power of fantasy and the id. New twists on old favorites, both erotic and romantic. Whether it’s that hotass cop and the speeder he pulled over, a threesome with your two best gay friends, anonymous sex with the guy you saw pumping gas, capture fantasy, sex slavery, cowboy and city slicker, secret babies, secretary and sheikh, we want stories that tap specific reader fantasies and capitalize on the chemistry between the characters.
Your story should have a clear romance hook, even though we encourage plots that have a broader external conflict. Readers love sprawling stories, but they want to know from the outset who is going to fall in love, what’s going to get in their way, and why it’s important that they resolve it. Remember, the idea is to indulge the id by fulfilling familiar reader fantasies in a new and unique way, so those fantasies need to be recognizable and powerful.

Authors Wanted
Rated X-mas: Christmas Menage Anthology
One of our most successful anthologies of all time was Rated X-mas, a menage-themed Christmas anthology with some super-sexy fun. We think it’s time to add to that collection with at least three more stories this year. If you’re interested in participating in a Loose Id Christmas classic, write us a 20-30K menage Christmas story and make sure to include some XXXcitement in your story.
To make a Christmas deadline, we’d need a complete story NO LATER THAN October 15. Sooner is better, and decisions on this anthology will be fast-tracked. Stories not accepted for the limited space in the anthology will certainly be considered for separate release. Seasoned authors with a track record of meeting deadlines may be considered on proposal before August 30; all others must submit a completed story. Loose Id authors, please submit to your editor and to Treva Harte. New-to-Loose Id authors are welcome; please send query and completed story to submissions @ loose-id . com and CC Treva Harte at alter ego @ loose-id . com
Baby, What a Big Surprise! Holiday Novellas
Short and sexy is in and on-trend for 2014 and first quarter 2015. If you’re not into menage (or maybe you are but you’re not into Christmas), we’re looking for novellas 20-35K on a theme of holiday surprises. Which holiday? What kind of surprise? That’s up to you, as long as it’s a holiday falling between December 2014 and March 2015.
Loose Id authors may send proposals to their editors by September 1. New-to-Loose Id authors are welcome, as always. Send completed novella, query and synopsis to submissions @ loose-id . com and state in the query that you’re submitting on the holiday surprises theme. Please keep in mind, for Christmas stories, the deadline for a complete story is going to be October 1. For holidays after Christmas, deadlines will be individually assigned.
Current Trends and Interests–What are we looking for?
In addition to these special calls, Loose Id is always accepting quality erotic romance in all sub genres. Neither kink nor excessive sex scenes are required; what is required is chemistry between the characters, heat generated from the connection, open bedroom doors, explicitness in included sex scenes, and sex that is integral (even critical) to the story line. We’ve got nothing against “vanilla”; we just want vanilla that makes you wish you were the one having that sex.
We’re especially but not exclusively looking for multicultural/interracial, het, trans, gay, lesbian, new adult (but not young adult), BDSM, romantic suspense, urban fantasy. High concept, strong hooks, great voices. Current themes of interest: second chances, reunions, sexy billionaires, secret romances, cowboys, Alpha males, and especially for new adult and younger protagonists, first love, friends to lovers, love triangles.
All that said, don’t write to spec. Find the story of your heart, love your characters, and write with passion. What we and the readers really want is to fall in love, and if you haven’t, we won’t.
S
Thanks for compiling these… you really got me thinking now, as I do have some ideas and have also written stories, but since English is not my native language, I have not dared to tackle that particuar market yet. Maybe some of these could be a start, so thanks 🙂
