Release Day Spotlight For ‘Never Wrong’ by Chris McHart.
This contemporary M/M novella features a May-December Age-Gap and was published on November 7th, 2014 by MLR Press.
The winner for this contest has been drawn. More Details Below. 😉
Jeff was raised to believe love between two men is wrong. Or is it? Can love ever be wrong?
When Jeff meets the much younger Dean, he only knows he wants him, consequences be damned. But things are not as easy, especially after Jeff’s ex calls and announces big news.
And Dean? He thinks the new neighbor is hot, but he’s not interested in something more than a rebound fuck. That’s what he tells himself, at least.
But lust isn’t a good basis for a relationship, more so since Jeff isn’t sure whether he can deal with being gay.
Love is never wrong, but can Jeff accept that?

*****
What I wouldn’t give to be allowed to run my fingers over his stomach, trace the hairs that grew there, up to his chest, where the dark curls peeked out from under his shirt. And then down to his cock, likely nestled in the same coarse hair, standing ready for me. His matted torso would contrast so nicely with my sparsely haired chest. The hairs would tickle my nipples and my stomach, right down to where I wanted to feel his touch most. I would—
“Are you okay?”
Fuck. His question ripped me out of my daydream, and I think I blushed profusely. I swallowed hard, my mouth dry and my tongue way too big. I forced my gaze away from his body, realizing that I was practically drooling. More heat rose to my face. How could I lose myself so much in appreciating another man’s body? Especially considering what my ex and I very recently went through.
I remembered he had asked something, and I nodded, that, yes, I was indeed okay.
The man offered his hand. “I’m Jeff.”
I took it, admiring how his hand matched mine in size, and answered, “I’m Dean. Nice to meet you, Jeff.”
“Do you need help getting all this up?” Jeff nodded towards my groceries, a smile on his lips. I suspected he had experienced the downside of not having an elevator in our apartment building.
“Yeah. If you’ve got time, I really could use a helping hand.”
Why did that sound so naughty to my ears? Had he caught that? Damn. Not the best way to make friends with a new neighbor by coming on to him, especially since I had no clue whether his girlfriend was waiting for him or not. But Jeff didn’t blink or grin or anything, so I assumed he didn’t catch my phrasing. Or hadn’t understood it as dirty as I thought it was.
God, Jeff all sweaty from running? Now I shifted on the couch.
Jeff moved over, subtle, inconspicuous. His hand rested next to mine on the cushion. Not touching. Barely. A hairs breath separated us.
I had no idea if he wanted me to know it, or if he wanted to do this without me noticing, but I was so aware of him sitting this close to me, there was no way I could miss it.
Jeff still watched the TV.
His fingers brushed mine. My breath caught.
Again, a featherlight touch. No mistake, then.
Jeff’s fingers stroked mine, the caress soft, but clearly there. I gently trailed my thumb along the palm of his hand. Jeff exhaled hard. His gaze was directed at my TV, but his fingers ever so carefully played with mine. Goose bumps rose on my arms.
I scooted toward him. I could smell him and his aftershave. I breathed deep, savoring the aroma. Jeff turned and smiled at me. He came closer. His hand held mine. Even nearer.
His lips landed on mine and I shut my eyes.
I didn’t know who had closed the final inch between us, but Jeff tasted better than I had ever imagined, although a bit like whisky. Our lips moved softly against each other, and I swallowed a moan. To have him kiss me made me want to do so much more than just feel his mouth on mine. It made me want to strip him, taste every delicious inch of his skin, and have him do the same to me.
Jeff pulled away, his lips leaving mine. “I didn’t imagine the looks you gave me, did I? Or do you want me to leave?” His voice was still quiet, but now it sounded insecure, like he had no clue how it’d go over with me. I didn’t answer. I couldn’t. Instead I got rid of the gap between us, kissing him again.
