Bethany reviews ‘Dreaming of Snow by Teodora Kostova (Self-published on 12/9/2014)
Why I read this book: When Teo let me know that she was giving the boys a Christmas story and asked if I would like to review it, I jumped at the chance.
It’s been a year since Adam and Penn moved in together, and they’ve settled down into their comfortable new life together.
Only…not everything is as perfect as it seems.
Penn is a bit bored after quitting his job at Queen Victoria, and Adam can’t seem to find inspiration for his latest film script.
Jared and Fenix are about to spend their second Christmas in their new home in the picturesque city of Malmö, Sweden. With a beautiful new house and a successful dance studio to run, Jared and Fenix are happy and content.
Only…not everything is as perfect as it seems.
When Jared invites Adam and Penn to spend the holidays with them in Malmö, Adam reluctantly agrees. But the two weeks filled with Christmas shopping, delicious food, fragrant wine, playing in the snow and, most importantly, spending quality time with their closest friends, proves to be exactly what everyone needs.
Well I wasn’t sure she would be able to pull it off, but she did. She made me fall in love with these boys even more than I already had.
When I read Dance I was hooked, and when I finished Mask I knew I had just acquired 2 new book boyfriends and 2 new BFFs. But I wasn’t sure how it would work to have a book that centered around not just 2 mcs but 4. Well Teo did it, she managed to weave 2 sets of characters into a book that flowed perfectly and was wonderfully timed out. I never felt that one set of mcs had more time that the other two.
Jared and Fen moved out of London and seem to have everything they wanted. Yet there is a sadness in Fens eyes that have Adam questioning what is going on with his best friend and his best friend’s husband. Cause not all is wine and roses with those two. And when we finally do figure out what is going on between Jared and Fen, I promise you, your heart will melt.
Adam and Penn have been going strong for about a year now, but Adam is struggling to find inspiration for his next project. He finds himself restless and refusing to leave the house. Penn on the other hand NEEDS to be busy and going and hates the idea of being stuck in the house. So he knows something has to change. And a vacations at their friends place is just what they both need.
Ok let me tell you I had an soft spot for Adam in Dance, and fell in love with him in Mask, so I didn’t think he could do anything to make me love him any more, but he proved me wrong. This is a sweet fun read that felt like a family reunion. It is beautifully written and one that I know I will be re-reading.
Let me say this though, after reading all three in this series I don’t suggest reading any of them as a stand alone. They work better when you read them in order, otherwise you will miss out on a lot of important information. But this book, along with Dance, and Mask are three books that I highly recommend.

Hi, my name is Teodora and I live in London with my husband and my son. I’ve been writing ever since I can remember, but it became my full time job in 2010 when I decided that everything else I’ve tried bores me to death and I have to do what I’ve always wanted to do, but never had to guts to fully embrace. I’ve been a journalist, an editor, a personal assistant and an interior designer among other things, but as soon as the novelty of the new, exciting job wears off, I always go back to writing. Being twitchy, impatient, loud and hasty are not qualities that help a writer, because I have to sit alone, preferably still, and write for most of the day, but I absolutely love it. It’s the only time that I’m truly at peace and the only thing I can do for more than ten minutes at a time – my son has a bigger attention span than me.
When I’m procrastinating, I like to go to the gym, cook Italian meals (and eat them), read, listen to rock music, watch indie movies and True Blood re-runs. Or, in the worst case scenario, get beaten at every Nintendo Wii game by a very inventive kid.
Don’t be shy and get in touch – I love connecting with my readers.
so good..
