Bethany reviews ‘Unwrapped Hearts’ by K-lee Klein. (Published by Amber Quill Press, on December 14th, 2014)
Why read this book: I have been in love with Brett and JT since ‘Unbreak My Heart’ so when K-lee offered my a chance to read this one I jumped at the chance.
Brett Taylor and JT Campbell have been together for over a year, and Brett is like a little kid when it comes to Christmas morning. He has plans for the two of them to have some quiet time, open gifts, and maybe even share some sweet loving before relatives descend on them for dinner.
Brett has on his Santa hat and his sexy surfer-boy lover right where he wants him, until a certain whirlwind of a pup takes matters into his own hands. Whiz isn’t about to be left out of the Christmas celebration, and he’ll do whatever it takes to demand his daddies’ attention…
Like I said above I love Brett and JT. ‘Unbreak My Heart’ was my first review for Rainbow Gold Reviews, so Brett & JT, along with K-lee hold a special place in my heart. She put them through so much in order for them to find a HEA so when I finished that one I immediately read ‘Unbroken Hearts’ which I absolutely loved. So when K-lee told me she was doing a short Christmas story for the boys I was like, well like a kid on Christmas morning.
You know I am all for angst and for two mcs that have fight to find their happiness. You won’t get that in this book, it is just plan sweet. Pure and simple. And it was just what I needed to see for Brett. Yes, I adore my sweet JT but my heart will always want to make things good for Brett. So I was so very happy to see how much Brett has grown and how stable he is in his relationship with JT.
I also enjoyed being able to see how comfortable JT is in his relationship with Brett. JT is the kind of person who can always bring a smile to your face. He is the person I want for a best friend. So it was nice to revisit with him and see his love for Brett, as well as Brett’s love for him.
Now Whizzy…well I can say about this rambunctious pup is he had me laughing so hard.
This short story was wonderful and if you are looking to catch up on Brett and JT, this is a perfect fit. If you have yet to read ‘Unbreak My Heart’ and ‘Unbroken Heart’ do that first, cause I can promise you these are three books that will grab you and refuse to let go.

K-Lee Klein has lived in one part of Western Canada or another for her entire life. She’s a doting mother of three now-grown kids, and has had characters and plots running around her head for as long as she can remember.
She lives with an patient husband who totally does not get her thing for gay men, two spoiled but wonderful sons (who don’t get it either), and two also spoiled, but beautiful cats. Her days are also filled with many texts and phone calls with her daughter who has already left the nest, and an abundance of fabulous gay men, large and small, bouncing off the walls of her skull, competing for their turns to tell their stories.
After finally throwing caution to the wind, K-lee’s first story was accepted and published in December of 2011, and since then she’s been lucky enough to be picked up by several publishers. She’s thrilled to be substituting her previous jobs as a hockey manager/coach, school band volunteer and overall chauffeur with her passion for writing beautiful, emotional men.
Among her favorite sub-genres are rockstars, cowboys, shifters, and opposites-attract relationships. But to be honest, she’s open to almost anything if it involves messing around in the heads of her characters. She’s also big on series–because she has a hard time letting her characters go–and is usually working on a handful of stories in various stages of completion all at the same time.
