Outside Collin Fitzpatrick’s dorm room is a dangerous place. Beyond his door the students of his small, conservative college think he’s straight, as does his Catholic family who’d disown him if they learned the truth. Inside, he’s safe with his incredibly sexy roommate Tanner D’Amico. Their room makes a perfect place to hide away and fall in love. The moment they cross the line from roommates to lovers, Collin becomes caught between their heavenly passionate encounters and the hellish reality that someone might find out and destroy everything. Tanner’s not used to being so confined, and wants to show the world how much he loves Collin. But Collin’s not sure he’s ready for the impact stepping outside will make.
I really did love this book, to me it showed you both sides of the story. We meet Collin, who hides the fact that he is gay, especially from his Catholic family. The other side is Tanner, who is out and proud! The two share a dorm room, and become an item, although things are taken very slow as Collin is well out of his comfort zone, and still has to learn what he likes and what he doesn’t. Both Collin and Tanner hide their relationship from everyone, and to begin with Tanner agrees to do this, but eventually he wants to be able to go out with Collin and let everyone know they are together, but Collin comes across as terrified of his family, and being disowned if they found out.
Everything seems to be going fine for the two boys, until Tanner decides that he would kiss Collin whilst they were are out in public, and this causes Collin to totally freak and flee. He is totally conflicted, he knows he likes Tanner a lot, but holding him back is what people will say or think once they realise he is gay. Tanner is devastated at Collin’s reaction and decides to go home for a few days, where he can be himself, as his family have no problem with him being gay.
Collin realises that he needs to make a decision, but he is conflicted on what he should do. He knows Tanner cares for him, but he keeps thinking about his mother, and what she would say and do if he admitted he was gay. Tanner returns back to the dorm, and it is not until something happens to both boys, that Collin’s mind clears and he knows what he has to do…….. but which way does he go???? Buy this book and find out, you will not regret it!
