Megan Derr discusses LT3P and their new Geek Out Anthology
Welcome to LT3’S Geek Out Spotlight and much love to Rainbow Gold Reviews for having us, and Marc for putting up with scatterbrained tendencies while we set all this up.
For those not familiar, Less Than Three Press is a small indie press run by myself, my sister Samantha, and our friend Sasha (who is also my roommate). Our aim is to provide LBGTQ romance stories to the world, and one of our more unique elements is that we do not require sex content. The vast majority of our stories contain little to no smut. We are more than happy to accept it, but we are just as happy to accept stories that contain none.
We started out an m/m press, but pretty quickly realized there was more we could do. Since then we have worked hard to push stories that go further than m/m. Lesbian, genderqueer, asexual… you name it, we want to publish it, because there are thousands of people out there who want to read it, see themselves in stories.
Geek Out is our first hard push to make more of those stories available. While we are always open to submissions, collections are a good way to get a bundle of like-themed stories out at once. Geek Out is a collection eight stories about trans and genderqueer geeks, ranging in genre from contemporary to fantasy. We have movie nerds, gamers, scholars, anime geeks and more.
If you’re looking for something fun, something different, we’ve got plenty of shiny for you.
And speaking of shiny, I am giving away two $25.00 gift certificates to Less Than Three Press. Winners will be randomly selected from commenters on February 28th at 17:00 EST.
Many thanks you and ❤ to everybody who drops by to say hello. If you pick up a book or two, I hope you enjoy ^__^

Danny and AJ have been online friends for years, and secretly in love with each other. When the opportunity to attend a comics convention comes up, they decide to go and share a room. Double Take | J.K. Pendragon | Excerpt | 14,500
Studying magical science at the prestigious Kemet Academy is a privilege and dream come true for Teka, a poor student from D’mt. But focusing on school doesn’t mean xe can’t also admire Hasani, the handsome graduate student overseeing Teka’s work.
Then late one night at the school library, Teka runs into Hasani and is completely astonished when the stern, quiet man xe knows by day acts so flirty and casual, it’s like he’s a different person. When the late night encounter leads to dating, Teka can scarcely believe xyr luck.
But the luck plays out when xe discovers why Hasani seems so different between night and day, a discovery that seems to have no resolution except heartache…
Horse Crazy | Caitlin Ricci | Excerpt | 10,000
Melody and her teenage daughter, Kristen, have moved to Colorado for a fresh start. She’s still not 100% where she wants to be in terms of her body yet but she is finally comfortable with herself and is living completely as a woman for the first time in her life. To thank Kristen for being so wonderful she promises her daughter riding lessons, something her little girl has always dreamed of.
While waiting for the lesson to start, she’s happy to see her daughter amidst the horses that she loves so much, but Melody does not expect the handsome man who sits down next to her—a man who proves to be Kristen’s instructor and idol—to be interested in taking Melody out on a date…
Long Macchiatos and Monsters | Alison Evans | Excerpt | 13,000
Jalen, lover of B-grade sci-fi movies, meets the far-too-handsome P in a cafe while deciding whether or not to skip uni again. When P invites them along to a double feature of Robot Monster and Cat Women of the Moon, Jalen can hardly believe that hot boys like bad sci-fi, too. But as their relationship progresses, Jalen realizes P leaves them wondering if they’re on the same page about what dating means, and if that’s what they’re doing.
Love Rampage | Alex Powell | Excerpt | 11,000
Maíra has always wanted a unicorn, but isn’t quite prepared when one shows up on her doorstep and kidnaps her—and proclaims that Maíra must confess her feelings to the girl she loves. Maíra is definitely reluctant to follow through with that, but everything changes when Carol is kidnapped by a demon…
Manifest | Alden Lila Reedy | Excerpt | 10,000
The very last thing Chris expects when he’s forced to take sewing lessons is to enjoy them. Or for sewing to lead him into the world of cosplay, and a friend with whom he begins to cosplay in earnest—and who convinces him to try dressing up as female characters.
He certainly doesn’t anticipate the realizations that cosplaying stirs—realization that could cost Chris not just his best friend, but his family as well.
Of Anime and the Baeci | Alessandra Ebulu | 30,000
All Ray wants is peace and quiet—something he is never going to get with his idiotic neighbor blasting anime and crazy music at all hours. When he finally breaks down and asks Cata to knock it off, he doesn’t expect a friendship to develop. And he definitely does not anticipate a romance.
A romance he fears won’t last, given that Ray is much more than he seems and only in the apartment building because he’s desperately searching for a serial killer—and trying to keep Cata from becoming the next victim.
Sext Based Adventures | Francis Gideon | 13,000
Chris thought he was done with his gaming days. He’d deleted his account, gone back to his day job, and put his fantasy world days behind him… but couldn’t resist the urge to return. This time, however, he decided to play as a woman—a persona he maintains even when he makes friends with Jessica.
When Jessica offers online sex, Chris still cannot bring himself to confess his secret. As their relationship turns serious, still he cannot admit to the ruse. Then Jessica proposes they meet offline, and Chris is finally forced to confront the questions and choices he’s been avoiding…

As long as the publisher company is an honest one, treats their authors with respect, has quality editors and is fair with their customer and brings out products that will attract the readers for their excellence, I will recommend them. Lately I haven’t been able to buy any books for financial reasons but have Author friends who have published with LT3P and they seem like a good company. I hope their success is immense.
The stories contained within this book, Geek Out, sounds quite interesting with an array of genres. Nice move!

I have enjoyed getting on the bus of reading M/M. I have only been reading for around 2-3 months and have like most of the books. I will keep reading them.

This is going to be great!!! Thank you very much
Sadly missed the chat 😦 I have quite a few books from LT3 and I like that so many of the authors are not so well known and the books are also fairly priced.
So cool!!! Ty

Geek Out sounds good. I also don’t just read the books for the smut. I like there fact the books so more true to life. What a person goes through in life and we are really just looking of someone to love us just as were are.
