Synopsis:

Becoming Alpha made Aaron responsible for protecting his new pack against outside threats, but fighting his own desires might pose an even bigger challenge.

When Aaron took down a crazy dominant wolf and inherited half a pack, he knew the Alpha job wasn’t going to be easy. A week later, he’s finding out what an understatement that was. Having a gay wolf in his pack brings lethal threats from other werewolves. Then humans locate his wolves and move in to try to capture and exploit one of them. Aaron has enough pressure and demands without letting his long-suppressed sexuality escape his rigid control. But keeping his distance from a young man who appeals to all his senses could be Aaron’s biggest challenge.

Unexpected Demands is book 2 in the series, it follows on perfectly from Unexpected Risk. New Alpha Aaron has his work cut out keeping his small pack safe and his Gay bonded pair alive… We met Simon and Paul in the first book. Werewolf are homophobic they seem to think if you are gay you need to die. Aaron does everything in his power to over turn the law and to make the other packs see the pair have a true mate bond. Its not an easy job, on top of that he has a young wolf going through a really hard time.
Zach is struggling with everything, he was controlled by the former no1, he was beaten by his grandfather and his drinking is out of control. He leans to his new Alpha for support.
This book is written in first person, from Aaron POV. I found book 2 even better than the first book. It is fast paced with a terrific storyline. There is a little of everything, love, hate, disbelief, kidnapping, fighting even buildings exploding. I never could guess what I was going to read next.
The books seem to span over a two/three week period except for the epilogue  and are very action packed. I do like the way the author has portrayed the werewolves in this series. It is very different from the norm, there is no insta love with the mate bond, even to bond to your mate is very different. I am a shifter lover and these books are just perfect for me. I am looking forward to reading book 3 in this series, I need to know what happens next.
Overall a fantastic read, I would highly recommend these books to all the shifter lovers out there.

AuthorBio

Kaje HarperI live in Minnesota (where the two seasons are snow removal and road-repair, and the mosquito is the state bird, and where sometimes in winter it is so beautiful you can’t breathe for gazing at it). I have been writing for longer than I care to admit, and currently am focused on writing m/m romance.

My first professionally published book, Life Lessons, came out from MLR Press in May 2011. This was the first thing I had submitted anywhere and I was thrilled when it was accepted. There are now three free short stories, and three more novels in the Life Lessons series.

My free Smashwords book was the first thing that actually released – I put it up a month before Life Lessons just for the fun of getting it out there. Lies and Consequences began as a reaction to the November 2010 election. It looked like the repeal of DADT might be derailed by the political shift and I put the insanity of that law into the book. Then as I was finishing the first draft in mid-December the repeal passed. Which was great, but prompted a rewrite to a lighter and more action/romance book.

And now I have other work in ebooks and print, both free and professionally published. This writing thing is addictive. So read, comment, tell me what you like and what you don’t, and help me make the upcoming books even better.
