Synopsis:

Playboy wolf shifter Wiley can’t duck out of his pack’s biggest annual event, despite knowing his grandmother has possible suitors lined up and waiting. Wiley has no intention of settling down, and the situation dangles just above disaster. Thankfully, Wiley’s best friend, lion shifter Ram, agrees to pose as Wiley’s boyfriend for the weekend.

They find out fate has other plans when they kiss on a dare, and the passion erupts, so hot and intense they fear the couch may spontaneously combust beneath them. Neither man is able to push the small act of affection from his mind, but both struggle with uncertainty and the ramifications of following where their libidos lead.

If they can’t outrun their feelings, they’ll have to muster the courage to face their fears before they lose everything, including their friendship.

*****

I am having such a hard time rating this book, the first 40% I thought was really funny. Wiley is a wolf shifter, his grandmother thinks at over a 100 he should settle down and mate, he asks his best friend Lion shifter Ram to pretend to be his boyfriend to stop the meddling. The only problem with this is they seem to tell everyone they are only friends very quickly.
His Grandmother seems to have been hit with with moon lust, she is 500 years old and seems to want to sleep with everything that moves.
Some things in this book seem to to work yet others just don’t, 500 years old and only a smattering of grey hair is a stretch even for me. All the adopted kids is bit over the top too. You would think that once a month the wolves have a mass orgy, with all the innuendos of group sex.
The sex between Wiley and Ram is red hot but they both seem to doubt every thing instead of trusting their animal selves.
I can see what the author tried to do with this book, it was supposed to be a fun shifter book with very little angst. That only worked in the first half of the book then the storyline seemed to go rather flat, it did pick up a little at the end. The abrupt change from fun to serious threw me. If you are wanting a serious shifter book this one isn’t for you, but if you like a bit of fun in the books you read you should enjoy this….
This is the first book i’ve read by this author, I would like to read another by her in the future.

AuthorBio

Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall and resulting quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn’t any good at it. I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on being a nurse. A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author’s webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing. When I’m not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.

  1. Thank you for the review. I recently was loaned a copy by a friend and I have to agree with your rating. The grandmother in heat was throwing me off too. Ram wasn’t really helping with his teasing remarks towards Wiley about his hot grandmother.
