Tracy reviews ‘Backwoods Asylum’ (Lost Shifters #1)  by Megan Derr. Published May 22nd 2013 by Less Than Three Press LLC, 60 pages

This book was provided free of charge for an honest review by the publisher. 😉

Why I read this book: I love a shifter book, this had a snake shifter, I haven’t read many books with this type of shifter.

Skylar is used to the way people think of him as frightening, mean, and dangerous. Snakes are not the most popular shifters around and the fact he grew up wild doesn’t help. He knows the way he’s chosen to live alone in the woods only makes things worse, but he didn’t think it meant people thought him capable of killing a couple of wolf puppies.

Determined to find the real monster who left them to die, Skylar calls up the only wolf he knows, a man he always wished would see him as more than a snake …

 7/10 Pots of Gold

Skylar is a snake shifter, most shifter packs are afraid of the snakes but Skylar is quiet and very sweet until he is upset. He lives alone in the woods, he hears wolf puppies crying, he find two alone and scared. He takes them home and rings the only Wolf he knows…..
Brady thinks Skylar is terrified of him, he doesn’t know why, but when he receives a call from him he races over to help….
This is a very sweet shifter story with out the sex. The sex in this book is glossed over, the main focus of the story is kept on the puppies and why they were left all alone.
I’m hoping we get to read more from these two in future books.
