The wonderful Angel Martinez stops by RGR today to discuss how Mischief Corner Books started out, who their authors are, and talk what type of books they publish. Lets give a big RGR welcome to Angel.
Welcome to Rainbow Gold Reviews for the Mischief Corner Books spotlight! As a proud Euro Pride Con sponsor this year, we’d like to share a bit about our focus as an LGBT publisher and our books.
Mischief Corner Books began as an agreement between friends, a place to publish work that might not fit in the catalogs of the publishers at the time. In a mountain cabin in Tennessee, we decided to pool our talents instead of self-publishing. It’s never easy puzzling through all the nitty-gritty of a new business, but with division of labor and a group of authors with such varied skill sets, we soon had a business.
Our core authors write in a number of genres, including contemporary romance and fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal, from sweet to sizzling, from tragic to comedic. Currently, MCB is proud to publish work for Toni Griffin, Angel Martinez, Freddy MacKay, Silvia Violet, Mathilde Watson and Andi Anderson.
While some of our authors write gay romance, MCB is an inclusive place for LGBT genre and literary fiction, something that we will be highlighting in our first MCB Quarterly magazine in April. The inaugural Quarterly e-zine of short stories, essays, and interviews will feature authors across the rainbow spectrum. It takes more than one flavor to make a rainbow, after all, and we’re proud to be able to bring that diversity to our readers.
While we have a core set of authors for whom we publish, we do take ongoing submissions for the MCB Quarterly. Please see the Submission Guidelines on our website.
