Bethany reviews ‘Inheritance’ by Lissa Kasey. (Self-published on March 3rd, 2015)

Why I read this book: We were talking about it on FB and when I heard Vampires, I knew I wanted to read it.  So when the author offered it to us I knew I wanted to read and review it.

We were provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

amazon-Inheritance (1)Blurb:

Seiran Rou’s life is complicated—he’s the only male in the world allowed to take magic classes in a female-dominant society, his vampire boyfriend, Gabe, is hinting that he wants more, and his mother is demanding a grandchild. But when a co-worker turns up dead on his doorstep, Seiran realizes his problems are only beginning.

With the police dogging his steps, a stalker-like bartender watching his every move, and a magic groupie following him around, Seiran is finding it hard to hide his power—a power that if revealed could get him killed. The Dominion, the ruling body of elemental magic, seems to have started a deadly game to control the rare magic he possesses.

Someone is pulling strings, murdering witches, and gathering power. When Seiran finds himself next on the hit list, he doesn’t know whether to run and hide or prove himself to be the powerful witch he is. If he stands up and fights, he’ll have to decide what is more important—hiding his power or protecting the ones he loves.

This book was just plain fun to read.  Like I said when I heard there would be vampires in this one I knew I would have to read it.  This is also my first book with witches as a main character, so yea for me.  This is a second edition with added content.

Seiran is highly OCD.  Which I can relate to, while not as severe as Sei it was nice to read about.  He is the only male witch in a place that is dominated with female witches.  He is very powerful and he knows it, yet he keeps that hidden.  Why you ask, well I can’t tell you cause it would spoil it for you and I don’t do spoilers.  He is also a Lynx shifter on the full moon.  Another one of my favorites.

Gabe is Seis vampire lover.  Did I tell you how much I love vampires in my book.  Cause I do, LOVE them.  He has loved Sei for years and wants nothing more than to commit too him.  But our dear sweet Sei is terrified of commitment.  Oh how I wanted to yell at Sei and tell him to snap out of it and make Gabe his as well.  Cause when they are together you can see the pull and chemistry they have for each other.

There is so much going on in this book that I thought could have been cut out, BUT it is all pulled together in the end and I was left in awe.  Lissa Kasey writes a fantastic book that draws you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the very end.  I did not read the first version so I do not know what was added, but what I can tell you is that this book is wonderful, magical and just pure fun.
