Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Brynn Stein author of For Mac
Hi Brynn, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your current book.

Tell us something no one else knows about your characters.

Liam is modeled loosely on an Irish man I knew in college, complete with beautiful accent.

Have you ever written something that made you cry?

Yes. CJ’s death scene in Ray of Sunlight. In fact, quite a bit in that book made me cry.

Have you ever co-written with someone before?

Yes and no. I participated in a round robin free read just recently with seven other authors. We just published it on our blogs. I’ve been working on a fanfiction with a friend off and on for years. We’re still not done. There’s another friend with whom I plan to write an original story. We’ve hashed out the basic plot and some of the characters backstory. But we haven’t actually started writing yet. I will probably end up as a coauthor on my daughter’s first book. We’ve been batting around ideas, etc. She’s writing the rough draft then she wants me to flesh it out and go from there. So, yes and no.

What is the most difficult part of writing for you?

Sometime just getting started, or choosing which story to write next.

Name your four most important food groups.

Fruit. I love fruit. Any fruit. I’ve never met a fruit I didn’t like.
Ice cream. Can ice cream be its own food group?
All other junk food, especially chocolate.
Veggies. I love most veggies. Unlike fruits, I have met a few veggies I don’t like. Asparagus and I don’t get along. Squash is not my friend. But other than that, I like most veggies.

ForMacFSBranson Farrell lost his parents when he was thirteen, and for the last ten years his brother, Mac, eight years his senior, has taken care of him. But Mac’s love came at a price. Both brothers were raised to believe being gay was completely unacceptable, and Branson has almost convinced himself he can be what Mac expects. When he looks at a man in a bar and Mac notices, Mac drags him off in horror.

Mac’s distress and disgust leads to a car accident that leaves Branson injured and Mac in a coma. Branson heals and stays at Mac’s bedside, but when Mac doesn’t recover, he is moved to a long-term care facility. There, Branson meets openly gay, confident, and attractive Liam Sullivan. Liam stirs feelings Branson thought he’d rid himself of, and to honor his brother, Branson fights tooth and nail against his attraction. When the cost of denying who he is becomes too high, Branson must battle a lifetime of hatred that’s been beaten into his body and mind to try for something of his own.

AuthorBio

I’ve always loved to write and wrote fan fiction before I even knew what it was called. When computers came along, with online communities and places to publish fan fiction, I wrote even more. Then a friend convinced me to try to have an altered version of an AU (alternate universe, meaning all but original) published. My manuscript was accepted and now I’m a ‘published author’.
