Synopsis:

Betrayed by his peers and slandered as a traitor, Commander Thierry Donovan has nothing left. Locked away and targeted by the very men responsible for his incarceration, Thierry defies the odds and fights for the fundamental right to survive the hell-hole of his imprisonment. With no one to trust, Thierry finds solace in the last place he imagines…

The church is Ryan Flynn’s sanctuary. He craves the solitude and peace he finds in the hallowed halls. His oath to serve God is a calling Ryan has hidden behind all of his adult life; until his past catches up with him in the form of his foster brother, Special Agent Orrin Hunt…

Submerging himself within a world of danger, violence and corruption is the only way Orrin can cope with life. Rejected and tormented by the bitter remorse of unrequited love, Orrin is oblivious to the beauty of what life can offer him. If he’d only open his eyes, and maybe his heart….

Jaydan Callahan’s life is a wreck. Gangs, drugs and violence are a part of his normal day to day routine. For one so young, he’s seen it, been there, done it and gotten more than enough tee shirts as proof. Capable of smelling a cop from a mile away, it comes as no surprise to Jay when the guy he has the hots for is actually working under cover to bring down the town’s notoriously dangerous king pin.

Four men, four lives, each one of them stained by lies, corruption and doubt. Can love show them the path to redemption, or will broken oaths, fear and grief make the crosses they bear too heavy a mantle to carry.

Both Ryan and Orrin have lived in the foster care system for as long as they can remember. It was not easy and at times they each were terrified of what would happen. The two young men didn’t meet till they were in their teens when a sweet lady took Ryan in and then did the same for Orrin a year later. Orrin suffered deeply in the system and still had nightmares of what he endured. Ryan was there for him and would help him through it when times got bad. Their friendship grew but feelings were also developing. One night things crossed over the line of friendship and Ryan ran, breaking both their hearts in the process.

Seventeen years pass, Ryan is now a priest. He is dedicated to the church, the parishioners and troubled youth in the area. When an Admiral of the U.S. Navy shows up at his church out of the blue to request his services, stating that there is a prisoner who is asking for a priest and he is required to provide one, Father Flynn is thrown for a loop. He wants to know why him of all priests is being requested. Add in the bad vibe he feels around the Admiral, Ryan is a little concerned. When he learns that someone sent the Admiral to request him personally Ryan knows it has to be Orrin. He hasn’t seen or talked with Orrin since the day he left so many years ago but he still cares for him deeply. Knowing that his foster brother is involved he can’t refuse the request.

Commander Thierry Donovan has been set up and now is in prison. He is left in solitary with only the guards and those who set Thierry up in the first place. Not having anyone to trust and needing to restore his faith in God he requests a priest. When Father Flynn shows up at the prison he is caught off guard, Father Flynn is stunning. The attraction is instant but not welcomed. How could he lust after a priest that is there to help guide him. Not only is Father Flynn very attractive he has a backbone and doesn’t take authority to the admiral. He isn’t afraid to stand up for himself and for Thierry. This does nothing but make him want Father Flynn even more.

Father Ryan Flynn is overwhelmed. He wasn’t expected to have the desires he has hidden for so many years come barreling back and stronger than ever. He has taken an oath to God and is committed to being celibate. Ryan knows that Thierry has been framed and his life is in danger. Therefore nothing will stop Ryan from helping the Commander get the justice he deserves even if Ryan’s own life and his calling to God is in danger.

Orrin Hunt is now an undercover agent trying to bring down a major drug lord as well as a traitor in the Navy. Being under cover he has infiltrated a local gang that deals with Marrenzo the drug Lord he is after. Since he has been working with in the street gang he has become close with one of the leaders Jaydan Callahan.

Jaydan knew from day one that Orrin wasn’t who he said he was but Jay was drawn to the undercover agent and decided to help him verses turn the info over to Mazzenzo. The more time Jay and Orrian spend together the more Jay falls for him. Unfortunately, Orrian is oblivious to his attraction because he still harbors feelings for another that hurt him so many years ago.

When all four of their lives cross what will happen? Will love prevail and it all work out? Will more hearts be shattered? Or will the danger they all are in tear them all apart?

This was such a great story. It was adventurous, suspenseful, erotic, and a little taboo. For me nothing is better than being engrossed completely in a book where you don’t realize hours have passed while reading. The plot was amazing with just enough of everything that it didn’t go overboard or get lost on what was going on with so many main characters. You were able to connect easily with each of these amazing characters. The secondary characters as well made a great addition to the story. I especially loved A.J. and would love to read a book on him as well. The sex scenes were hot but so much more than that, they exposed such a sweet side of these hard core men. One particular scene at the end was one of the most beautiful love scenes I have ever read.

I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend Broken Oaths by V.L. Moon and J.T. Cheyanne to anyone that enjoys a MM love story with an action packed plot.

About J.T. Cheyanne

After a lifetime of reading and at the suggestion of friends, J.T. Cheyanne finally put fingers to keys and started writing my own stories. It’s been a wildly amazing ride full of tears, exhilaration and plain old hard work. Thankfully, my three beautiful children support my craziness and encourage me to continue something I love. While we both have solo work, Venus and I thrive on the work we do together. What a small world it is indeed Mr. Disney when a small town girl from Alabama can find and write with a big city girl from England. What a ride it has been and continues to be!
