Since the death of his submissive lover two years ago, Leo hasn’t been living—merely existing. He focuses on making Collars & Cuffs, a BDSM club in Manchester’s gay village, successful. That changes the night he and his business partner have their weekly meeting at Severinos. Leo can’t keep his eyes off the new server. The shy man seems determined to avoid Leo’s gaze, but that’s like a red rag to a bull. Leo loves a challenge.
Alex Daniels works at Severinos to scrape together the money to move out on his own. He struggles with coming out, but he’s drawn to Leo, the gorgeous guy with the icy-blue eyes who’s been eating in his area nearly every night.
Leo won’t let Alex’s hesitance get in the way. He even keeps him away from the club so as not to scare him. And as for telling Alex that Leo is a Dom? Not a good idea. One date becomes two, but date two leads to Leo’s bedroom… and Alex discovers things about himself he never realized—and never wanted anyone to see.
Leo is one of the owners of the BDSM club Collars and Cuffs. He has been a Dom for many years. He hasn’t had a sub of his own since Gabe died, two years ago. He is too heartbroken to move on nor will he risk his heart again. Leo still performs demonstrations with club subs, but nothing intimate.
Leo and Thomas are meeting to discuss their business issues over dinner at Severino’s. Leo hasn’t been to Severino’s in a long time as it holds too many memories of him and Gabe. What currently holds Leo’s attention tonight isn’t just his memories, but the young waiter that he can’t keep his eyes off. Leo hasn’t felt like this for a long time.
Alex has worked at Severino’s for a while. He is still awkward when it comes to people and would rather hide out in the back. As he clears tables he can feel eyes on him. He doesn’t know what it is but the man who keeps looking at him is causing a strange reaction. Alex isn’t sure he likes it either, but when he is told to wait on their table he has no choice but to do so.
Leo is instantly intrigued by Alex and his shy nature. He is determined to see where this attraction goes. Leo is nothing but persistent, he shows up regularly at Severino’s taking a table in Alex’s area. Eventually he asks Alex out. One date leads to another until things progress. The more Alex is around Leo the more he learns more about himself and his desires.
Can Alex be the one who heals Leo’s heart and can Leo be what Alex needs and wants?
BDSM is one of my favorite genres of books to read and KC Wells does an amazing job. Her writing flows perfectly. The plot keeps you engrossed from beginning to end. I was able to vividly picture the scenes while reading and boy are some of them hot. I was able to connect with each of the characters. Leo and Alex are amazingly beautiful together. As for the secondary characters, some you fall for as well and want their story and a few of them you can’t help but despise. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.
If you enjoy a MM BDSM romance with a great storyline or you haven’t read any before but are intrigued, then I highly recommend reading An Unlocked Heart by KC Wells you won’t be disappointed.
10/10 pots of gold
Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. WELLS always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way. K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, when the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative.
An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….
K.C. now writes full-time and is loving every minute of her new career. The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.
And as for those men in love that she writes about? The list of stories just waiting to be written is getting longer… and longer….
K.C. loves to hear from readers.
