Bethany reviews ‘His Captive’s Heart’ by Meredith O’Reilly. Published by Stormy Night Publications on August 13, 2015. 79 pgs
Why I read this book: This week is ‘Pick For Me’ where each reviewer got to pick a book from our backlist for another reviewer to read and review. This was MtSnow’s pick for me, and it was definitely a good choice, she knows me well.
This book was provided to RGR in exchange for an honest review.
Twenty-nine-year-old lawyer Marcus Bradberry has fantasized for years about finding a firm-handed man who would not hesitate to provide both guidance and discipline while also bringing him the kind of fulfillment he’s only dreamed about. When he meets Dimitri Anderson, the owner of a local kink club, Marcus takes a chance and shares the wildest fantasy he’s ever had with him.
Though he confesses to Dimitri that nothing excites him more than the idea of a being overpowered, kidnapped, and mastered completely by a strong, handsome man, Marcus is nonetheless shocked when Dimitri takes it upon himself to bring this fantasy to life. When Dimitri surprises him after work on a Friday, Marcus soon finds himself blindfolded, handcuffed, and driven away to an unknown place.
It quickly becomes clear that Dimitri knows exactly what his captive sub needs and is more than ready to give it to him, but as the weekend progresses, Marcus realizes that trusting his new master is at times much harder than he expected. Will he surrender to his most secret desires or will his fears drive him away from his master’s loving arms?
Publisher’s Note: His Captive’s Heart is an erotic romance novel that contains spankings, sexual scenes, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
This book was just what I needed at the time. It is short, sweet, hot & kinky. I am not going to lie to you, it starts steamy, stays steamy and ends steamy. So if you are looking for that then this one is for you. If you want a character build up with the MCs gradually falling for each other then this is not the book for you, as its a fast pace from page one.
Marcus knows he wants to be dominated, held down, forced to be at the mercy of a strong hand. He knows he is submissive and he knows he wants a dominate, someone he can belong to. He just isn’t sure he can find that man in the real world. So when an invite to a BDSM club for newbies pops up in his email he jumps at the chance, and there he meets Dimitri.
Dimitri is a hot dom who ends up being the owner of the club Marcus walks into. He also has his sight set on Marcus and finding out what he wants from the BDSM world. So when Marcus reveals his dark fantasy, Dimitri plans on being the one to deliver it to him. He “kidnaps” Marcus for the weekend to show him just how much fun they can have exploring Marcus’s hidden desires.
Like I said above, this book is short, 79 pages, so I finished in a few hours. With that said, you get to the heat right away and this is not necessarily a bad thing. This also means that the MCs fall hard and fast, so there is not a big long build up to falling in love. I have read a lot of BDSM books, and I mean A LOT so I know the first thing is “safe, sane and consensual”. And yes this book did touch on that briefly, so if you are looking for an in depth explanation of the BDSM scene, its not in this story.
But…..if you want a sweet romance heavy on the heat I highly recommend this book. I am very glad I had the opportunity to read something from this author and will be looking for more from her. Thank you to MtSnow for your pick for me. 😉

Meredith O’Reilly is an erotic romance author. She published her first book, Little Samantha’s Choice in the summer of 2014. She still can’t believe that she’s a published author.
Meredith found her love of writing at the very young age of seven. Despite her extreme difficulty with spelling and grammar, Meredith would write any chance that she got. It was also at seven that she had decided that she wanted to be an author when she grew up, when a fellow student complimented Meredith on one of her short stories.
As the years went by, Meredith continued to write just for fun and would gobble up any book that she could get her hands on. Meredith always had a soft spot for romance stories because she loved all of the drama accompanied by the happily ever afters in them.
It wasn’t until after reading a popular erotic book series that Meredith began to read and write erotic stories. Her interest turned to age play when she had stumbled upon an age play book by accident. After reading several and being very upset by the content in the stories, Meredith decided that she wanted to write a full length, 100% consensual, sweet loving story between a couple who participated in the age play lifestyle.
Meredith never planned for one of her stories to get published, but Stormy Night Publications did just that, and it has been an incredible ride ever since.
In Meredith’s free time, you’ll find her with her nose in a textbook, in the kitchen trying to experiment with a new recipe, or sitting behind her computer typing away at a new story.
