Melt Into You (A Loving on the Edge Novel) by Roni Loren #LGBT #Review

Sam reviews ‘Melt Into You (A Loving on the Edge Novel)’ by Roni Loren. Published by Berkley on July 3rd 2012 and is 368 pages.

Why I read this:  This weeks theme is to retread a book you loved.  I chose Melt Into You because it is one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors.

Her first love has returned, and he’s brought a friend…

After running away from home and the boy who broke her heart, Evan Kennedy has kick-started the perfect new life with her celebrity fiancé. So what if said fiancé prefers guys? She knew the deal. And with her ticket to The Ranch, an exclusive resort where any fantasy can be satisfied, she knows she can find someone to fulfill her less-than-traditional desires on the side.

She just never expected that man to be Jace Austin, her old heart-breaker–all grown up, hard-bodied, and holding out a collar. She knows it’s probably a world-class bad idea–especially since Jace has brought along his buddy Andre, who’s every bit as irresistible. But if they can stick to the no-strings rules, so can she.

Too bad Jace has never been so good with rules. Evan is convinced “forever” is a word used only in greeting cards, but Jace and Andre have one last fantasy of hers left to fulfill. It’s time to go big or go home. And neither man has ever been a fan of going home.

Melt Into You by Roni Loren is one of my all time favorite books. I stumbled upon this by chance a few years ago. At the time I had just started my reading addiction and was exploring new genres. This happened to be a BDSM book with M/F, M/F/M, M/M/F and M/M scenes.  Only I wasn’t aware of all of this until after I had already started reading.

Melt Into You story is based on three characters, Jace, Andre and Evan.  In the beginning Evan is 16 years old living in foster care. She has fallen in love with the one guy she shouldn’t. Certain events take place and she runs away from home. Heartbroken and alone she does what she has to survive.

Fast forward several years later, Evan is now engaged to be married to a man who is gay. Due to her fiance’s fame he has to keep his sexuality hidden and Evan is his cover. She loves her fiance’ in her own way and has accepted her fate. That is until she runs into Jace after so many years.

Jace is gorgeous, funny, outgoing and goes after what he wants. He is straight but really doesn’t put a label to himself, he is always open to exploration. Andre is Jace’s best friend. He is sexy as it gets and is bi sexual. Both of these men are Doms at the Ranch. The Ranch is a high-class discreet BDSM club.

Jace and Evan never expected to see the other again, especially at a place only meant for kinky sex. Jace is now free to explore everything he ever wanted with the one girl who stole his heart so long ago. However this time it won’t be two but three of them.

Roni Loren’s books are simply brilliant. The writing is flawless. I was able to connect with the characters from the very beginning. There is lots of sex and boy oh boy is it steamy. Fantasies are played out that had me wishing I was Evan.  With as much sex that is involved, the story isn’t overtaken by it. I laughed a lot, cried some and had to fan myself throughout the entire book.

The secondary characters add a lot to the book as well. Just like the main characters they are also easy to connect with. Several of these characters now have their own stories in the series.

I can’t tell you how many times I have read Melt Into You. Each time I do, I fall even more in love with the trio. Melt Into You is actually the second book in the Loving Edge series. I wasn’t aware of this when I started it.  Melt Into You can be read first, however it was great to read about Jace in book one when he was younger.

Roni Loren is an automatic buy for me.  It doesn’t matter if it is one of the books from the Loving Edge series or  a standalone, they are all fantastic. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading any of her work then you are missing out. If I had to recommend just one of her books it would be Melt Into You.

Read my review for Yours All Along (A Loving Edge Novella) here:

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son.

If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars, er, rock concerts. Yeah, that’s it. She is the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series from Berkley Heat. Website:
