Endings and Beginnings is not a standalone novel. In order to fully understand the characters and the storyline you must start with book 1, An Unlocked Heart. “It was a lovely idea. Thank you.” Alex kissed his husband on the cheek before unbuttoning his dark blue shirt.
Leo chuckled. “It was only dinner at Severino’s, but I’m glad you enjoyed it.”
“Only? Only?” Alex gave a mock gasp of horror. “Wait till I tell Sev.” Then he smiled. “To be honest, I thought you’d forgotten my birthday, so being taken out for dinner was a nice surprise.” It wasn’t like Leo to forget, so Alex had been dismayed when nearly the whole day had passed by with no mention of it. But dinner had more than made up for that: candles, wine, a totally sinful and delicious dessert…
Alex took off his briefs and climbed into bed, watching Leo’s gorgeous body emerge from beneath the suit. “I never tire of looking at you when you’re naked,” he confessed with a sigh.
Leo snorted. “I hope you’re still saying that in twenty years’ time when I’m sixty and bits of me are succumbing to the forces of gravity.” He climbed into bed next to Alex and held his arms wide.
Alex needed no second invitation. He snuggled up against Leo’s side and laid his head on Leo’s chest, closing his eyes and drinking in Leo’s warm, musky scent that still stirred his senses as much as it had done when they’d first made love.
Leo stroked his hair. “Actually, I have a confession to make. The meal was just an excuse to spoil you with your favorite foods. It wasn’t your present.”
Alex raised his head and stared at Leo. “It wasn’t?” He grinned. “What have you got for me? And is it hidden around here somewhere?” He scanned the room, thinking of places where Leo might have secreted his gift.
Leo laughed. “I swear, you are such a big kid sometimes. And you won’t find it.”
Alex knelt up on the bed in a flash. “Is that a challenge?”
Leo grabbed him around the waist and pulled him down on top of him, wrapping those long legs of his around Alex so he was pinned against Leo’s body. And just like that, Alex wasn’t in the mood to go searching for presents. He rocked against Leo, loving the feel of their hard dicks rubbing against each other, Leo’s mouth on his, Leo’s hands on his back, his shoulders…
“You can arouse me in a heartbeat,” he murmured against Leo’s lips.
Leo smiled and pushed up with his hips, letting Alex feel just how hard that cock was. “Ditto.” He caressed Alex’s cheek. “Do you know how happy it made me to be your first?” His lips twitched. “Unless we’re counting first attempts, in which case you lost your virginity to a courgette.” His eyes twinkled. “Or was it a cucumber? I can’t remember.”
Alex groaned. “Don’t remind me, please?” He stared down at Leo’s face. “Didn’t you experiment before you actually got someone to—” Alex gaped. “How can I have been with you for four years and not know how you came to lose your cherry? I mean, you weren’t always Leo Hart, the Big Bad Dom.” He snorted. “Unless you popped out of the womb wearing a leather harness and holding a whip? And your arse is where No Man Has Gone Before?” Surely… Leo had to have bottomed… at least once.
Leo grabbed onto him and rolled them until Alex was under him, Leo lying between his legs.
“I think someone needs a lesson in how not to talk to their Dom.” He grinned.
Alex shook his head. “I’m being serious here. And can this be a conversation between husbands rather than Dom and sub?” His fingers strayed to where his collar lay snug around his neck. Not that he ever forget who his Master was.
Leo leaned in and kissed him, slowly, thoroughly, until Alex was sure he was about to melt with pleasure. When he broke the kiss, Leo placed his elbows on either side of Alex’s head and looked into his eyes.
“His name was Jack Terrance, and we were at university together. We met during the first term, actually. And my first time was nothing spectacular. To be honest, we were in too much of a hurry to do enough preparation, and there wasn’t enough lube for my liking.”
Alex winced. “Ouch.”
Leo laughed. “We learned from our mistakes. Well, I did, certainly. When it was my turn to top, it became obvious that Jack was a bottom, and we kind of stuck in those roles.”
Alex smiled. “But you said Thomas was your first Dom. Did you and he ever…?” He wasn’t sure how to ask, or even if he should.
Leo sighed. “Thomas and I have never had sex, if that’s what you’re asking. But… ”
“There’s a but?” Alex widened his eyes. “Well, don’t stop there!”
“When Thomas was pleased with how I did in a scene, I was allowed to choose a reward.”
Alex couldn’t hold back his grin. “This is getting interesting. Please, do tell.”
Leo shrugged. “Not much to tell, really. He did happen to have this great collection of… dildos.”
Alex stared at his husband. “Those dildos in the bedside cabinet… they’re not just for my pleasure, are they?”
Leo bit his lip.
“Leo… why didn’t you say something?”
Leo sighed heavily. “I suppose because admitting that sometimes I like the feel of something firm in my arse feels like I’m saying what we have doesn’t satisfy me. Because it does, enormously. I love being inside you, seeing that look on your face when I enter you. But yes, now and again, especially if I’m home and you’re working late at the restaurant, I have been known to come in here, choose a dildo and… enjoy myself.” He rolled off Alex and lay beside him. “What’s such a coincidence about this whole conversation is that I was going to bring up this topic tonight.” He stroked Alex’s chest, the motion soothing and slow.
Leo sat up, reached over into the cabinet and brought out a pair of leather shackles.
Alex frowned. “Am I missing something?”
Leo studied one of the restraints, his fingers tracing the metal buckles. “I was going to tie you to the bed, and then give you something for your birthday that you’ve never had.”
Alex couldn’t tear his eyes away from Leo. “Which is?”
Leo smiled. “My arse. Yours. For the night.”
Okay. Alex considered what Leo was offering, and fuck, his dick gave a throb.
Read Part 2 at Fangirl Moments and My Two Cents
Darren Fielding never found the level of intimacy he witnessed between Thomas Williams and his sub, Peter, the day of Peter’s “rebirth.” Not only that, he never realized such intimacy was possible. For two years, Thomas’s business card has been burning a hole in his wallet. When Darren’s lover moves on, maybe it’s finally time to see where that card takes him.
Collars & Cuffs’s new barman, JJ Taylor, is really conflicted right now. He went to the club with a very specific purpose, already convinced of what he’d find there. Except it’s not what he expected at all. He certainly didn’t anticipate finding himself drawn to the new wannabe Dom. Nor could he have guessed the direction that attraction would lead him.
Old love, new love, vows, pain, rage, moving in, moving on…. The members of Collars & Cuffs face an event that touches some of them deeply, but it will only reinforce what they already know: together they are stronger, and some bonds cannot be broken.
Excerpt:“Honey, I’m home.”
Alex laughed and came out of the kitchen to greet his husband. “We’ve talked about this, right? You do not walk into this apartment and talk to me like I’m the little wife.”
Leo kissed him soundly on the cheek. “Aw, but you’d look great in an apron, holding a glass of beer out for your weary, hard-working hubby.” He smirked. “And besides, no one in their right mind would call you little.”
Alex quirked his eyebrows. “One, you don’t drink beer, which is why there’s a glass of chilled chardonnay on the living room table, waiting for you. Two, excuse me—weary? Hard-working? You’ve been standing around in leather chaps and a harness, watching while guys do all manner of things to each other, which probably included a lot of fucking, because, hey, it’s Saturday night, right?”
Leo sighed happily. “What can I say? I love my job.”****
I have been anxiously waiting Endings and Beginnings since it was announced months ago. However, once I received it I was a little nervous to start reading it. I knew the end of the series was upon us and I was nowhere near ready to say goodbye.
I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing the past 7 books and I was ecstatic to get the opportunity to do the same with book 8. Endings and Beginnings is just as brilliant as all the previous books in the series. KC Wells and Parker Williams start it off with a bang and keep you entranced till the very end.
Not only did this book tie up some of the loose ends, it brought us an amazing new couple. We actually have met Darren before. He is the owner of the salon and the person that helped Peter let go of the past and become a whole new man. Witnessing that beautiful moment made Darren realize what he truly wanted. JJ is a young man who came to Collars and Cuffs looking for answers. What he ended up getting was a whole new outlook on life. It was saddening to see why he came, but amazing to watch as he let go and began to trust.
JJ and Darren are a perfect match. From the beginning they had great chemistry. Darren was able to find the one person he could truly love and could care for. In return, JJ found a man he could trust, love and knew would take care of him.
I absolutely loved seeing all the past characters. Thomas and Peter have been my all time favorite since their story began in book 2. As I read Endings and Beginnings it stirred up a lot of emotions, especially regarding Peter. He is awe-inspiring. Peter has battled so hard to get over all the horrific things done in his past. I hated seeing him hurt again. However, it was amazing to watch him fight back and not let it overcome him. Endings and Beginnings once again showed off how fabulous Thomas is. Ranging from a lover, a Dom, a friend and from a business perspective he is caring and loving, but he fierce when the time calls for it.
It was wonderful to see how the other characters have grown and moved on in the direction that is best for them. Even if some of these events brought me to tears I was beyond happy for them.
Overall, this is an amazing, emotional ending to a brilliant series. The Collars and Cuffs Series will always be one of my all time favorites. I can’t wait to see what KC Wells and Parker Williams has in store for us next. With any luck we will see this wonderful group of men sometime in the future.

Born and raised in the north-west of England, K.C. Wells always loved writing. Words were important. Full stop. However, when childhood gave way to adulthood, the writing ceased, as life got in the way.
K.C. discovered erotic fiction in 2009, where the purchase of a ménage storyline led to the startling discovery that reading about men in love was damn hot. In 2012, arriving at a really low point in life led to the desperate need to do something creative. An even bigger discovery waited in the wings—writing about men in love was even hotter….
K.C. now writes full time and is loving every minute of her new career.
The laptop still has no idea of what hit it… it only knows that it wants a rest, please. And it now has to get used to the idea that where K.C goes, it goes.
Parker Williams began to write as a teen, but never showed his work to anyone. As he grew older, he drifted away from writing, but his love of the written word moved him to reading. A chance encounter with an author changed the course of his life as she encouraged him to never give up on a dream. With the help of some amazing friends, he rediscovered the joy of writing, thanks to a community of writers who have become his family.
Parker firmly believes in love, but is also of the opinion that anything worth having requires work and sacrifice (plus a little hurt and angst, too). The course of love is never a smooth one, and Happily Ever After always has a price tag.
