Wendy reviews Falling by William Tate. Published October 25, 2016, 25 pages.
Tobias has loved Lucie for as long as he’s known the owner of the bookstore he works at, and she seems to like him too. There’s a problem, though. It turns out his boss has a boyfriend–a vampire that bites for pay. What starts out as a friendship between the three grows into something infinitely more complicated when Tobias becomes the latest victim of another local vampire.
Why I read this book: I’ve read this author in some forums where the stories were just free little tidbits, so I was excited to see that she was publishing her first book. I bought the book as soon as it was available. I’m glad to be able to write this review and I hope that it’s the first of many that I write for William Tate.
This is a short story and I was very quickly drawn to the MC Tobias. He’s one of those characters that comes to you slightly broken but still wanting to have his chance at love and a HEA. He feels so much for Lucie, the owner of the bookstore where he works, but he also has feelings for Lucie’s boyfriend who is a vampire. Turns out they have feelings for him too. I was impressed with the authors ability to bring the three of them together with a plot, adventure and smoking hot kisses. I would love to see more of these characters in the future. William Tate created an interesting world that has loads of possibilities.
