“I believe you have something of mine, Zach.”
The stranger’s accusation throws Zach Owens for a loop. He’s never seen this man in his life, and he’s not prepared when he finds out what they have in common—their boyfriend, Jake.
Make that ex-boyfriend. With the jerk out of the picture, Zach hurries after the stranger to apologize… which quickly leads to some sizzling hot revenge sex.
Despite starting on the wrong foot, Nathan Forrester can’t get enough of the sexy movie theater owner. Still, he’s jaded and distrustful—especially when Jake keeps materializing in Zach’s presence despite Zach insisting that relationship is over.
With a devious ex-boyfriend trying to sabotage their fledgling relationship, Zach and Nathan need to learn to trust each other, or they’ll both wind up with nothing.
This 61,000 word novel was previously published, and has been revised to include an extended ending.
Why I read this: I am a HUGE L.A. Witt fan, so when we had the chance to review this for it’s tour, well I jumped at the chance.
Like I said, I am a huge L.A. Witt fan, she is autobuy for me and I had previously read this when it was published under its former publisher. But when we were asked it we wanted to review for this tour, I thought sure why not. I’ll re-read and review. Then I found out the ended had been extended, and I thought to myself wonderful, because that was my only issue with the first edition. The ending seemed rushed and felt almost more of a HFN instead of a HEA. Well this revision definitely gives you a HEA.
I am going to start off by saying, I do not condone breaking up with someone and ending up in that person’s ex’s bed, even if he IS a cheating bastard. But….OMG the beginning of this book is HOT to the HIGHEST degree, so I will give them a pass. And when all was said and done Zach and Nathan both knew that what they did was wrong. So I loved the pull that these two men had for one another, and the constant want to see each other. These two are one of the hottest couples I have read.
But their relationship is far from easy. Nathan has MAJOR trust issues, not that I blame him, but that plays a big role in driving a wedge between them. I think I can honestly say that I hated their ex, and how weird is that? Oh well without him, it would have been too easy and I kinda liked watching the angst unfold. Though there were moments I wanted to yell at both of them to get their stuff together. They do eventually but this is where the extended ending plays a big role in their HEA. It helps you understand what happens after. It put things in place as to where Nathan and Zach go.
So that is why I have to give this book a 9. As always L.A. Witt is a fantastic writer, one who hasn’t let me down yet.

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…
