Blurb: Every good Dick needs a sidekick….

Actor Tom Lewis’ world came crashing down when a honey trap and tabloid exposé outed him and put pay to his flourishing career. The housewives’ favorite was most well-known for his role as Detective Fox in the quaint British series, Malmesbury Murders. But after the media speculation about his sexuality, the show is in hiatus, and Tom hasn’t worked six months.

Now things are getting serious; money is running out, and Tom needs a job desperately. So when his agent offers him a seasonal acting job, he reluctantly agrees… and takes on the role of Santa for a top London department store. This decision changes Tom’s luck.

When Tom overhears two unidentified store workers discussing a job to get a little Christmas bonus, he realizes the job is of the illegal sort. Now, Tom could call the police, but then again, wouldn’t it be great for his flagging career if Detective Fox saved the day?

So Fox is on the case, and as every good Dick needs a sidekick, Tom decides a sexy young elf named Eli Mason will fit the role, in more ways than one.

Note: This is an M/M romantic comedy with gay sexual content.

Wow! I just finished this cute little romp and it left me smiling from ear to ear. In this story we have some well rounded and fun characters.

First there is struggling actor Eli Mason, a fresh young unemployed drama student who is part of an acrobatic juggling duo. He and his goofy best friend/acrobatic partner Jared go through an audition to become Christmas elves for the highly sought after positions in a famous department store in London.

Lo and behold, but to their surprise, who will be playing the jolly Santa himself but newly outed, and on indefinite hiatus, Tom Lewis, or ‘Detective Fox’ the beloved star of the television series, ‘The Malmesbury Murders’. After having been caught in a honey trap by an undercover reporter/hookup, it seems that many of the actor’s adoring female fans have abandoned him.

When the famous ‘Santa’ and the quirky ‘Elf’ get together, sparks fly. But that is not all! We are taken through various parts of London and given little history lessons too, which I found very enjoyable.

This story had me giggling, and thoroughly enjoying the wit, humor and byplay of all the supporting cast as well as the main characters. For a short little holiday story, this one was loads of fun, and I so needed the bit of lighthearted comedy this story brings. Do yourself a favor and give it a go. You can’t go wrong with this combination!!

Every book I listen to by this narrator, I find myself being more and more impressed. He is turning into an autobuy for me. I love his British, Scottish, and even his American accents. So far, everything he performs sounds authentic to me. I would definitely listen to him again.

Narrator Gary Furlong and Author Isobel Starling pair up once again for another winner! This story is an absolute hoot, with a bit of kink and sexy times to go with a fun little mystery caper.

Born in Germany, Isobel Starling spent most of her twenty-year professional career making art in Ireland. She relocated to the UK and, faced with the dreaded artist’s creative block, Isobel started to write and found she loved writing more than making art.

The ‘Shatterproof Bond’ series is an Amazon Gay Romance bestseller. Isobel has just completed her eleventh book and signed French and German and Italian, translation and publishing rights deals for the whole Shatterproof Bond series. The ‘As You Wish’ translation “Comme Vous Voudrez” is a best seller on Amazon France. It was released in German in March 2017, and as an audiobook in May 2017.

Isobel’s greatest love is writing M/M relationships, and she hopes one day to actually finish the fantasy novel that she put ‘to rest’ three years ago.
