Parker’s Profile by L.D. Blakeley #Review #LGBT #ShortStory

Melissa reviews Parker’s Profile by L.D. Blakeley Published April 4th 2016 by Evernight Publishing, 76 pages.

Parker's ProfileParker Knowles needs a date. No, really. If he can’t find one by Valentine’s Day, he’s agreed to let his sister fix him up. And quite frankly, he’d rather chew off his own arm than go out with someone of his sister’s choosing.

Internet phenom, Lane Steadman, has offered to show Parker the art of the perfect selfie. After all, an outstanding dating profile is useless without a topnotch photo, right?

Can love really be found on the Internet? Or is a real-world connection closer to Parker than he thinks?

Why I read this book: I thought the blurb sounded really cute!  And as much as I love me an angst filled story, and just as much a sucker for adorableness.  🙂

This was ADORABLE!!! I was just oohing and awwwing all over the place. Parker is in need of a date to get his sister off his back, so of course Parker decided to set up an online dating profile. But his picture sucks, so BFF Seth brings in his cousin who is a social media guru and voila! Sparks fly and it is so sweet and cuddly cute. Anyone can tell (except for Parker) that Lane isn’t as straight as his cousin claims, and is very much interested in Parker.

This is a short story but it packs a punch and I would love to see these two men again. Lane, despite being a sort of internet celebrity, is very down to earth and isn’t a jerk, which is perfect for Parker. He needs someone who is nice and real. There is a little misunderstanding between them which does create a cute little drama, but I was just laughing about it. Parker receives two notifications on his dating profile and call me psychic, I knew one of those was from Lane. 😉 Since Parker is super busy he doesn’t get the chance to read either notice, so he has no idea Lane didn’t just bail on him after their night together. This whole situation was funny and I couldn’t wait for Lane to tell Parker the truth.

This is not an insta-love story so don’t worry; they have an attraction and act on it. They are clearly going to be dating at the ending of the story and I know these two have met their match. This story will for sure put you in a good mood, so if you are looking for something to take you out of your book-slump, or maybe you are suffering from a book-hanger, this one here is short and sweet and I think will make you happy. 😀
