Why I read this book: The author offered this story for review and when I saw the blurb, I knew that I had to give it a try. A.O. Spade is a new to me author and I love to read new authors!
From what I understand, this story came about during a challenge from a friend. I’ve read many, many shifter stories but this was the first one that had horses. One of the things that I liked most about this story is that the shifters/characters spend more of their time in horse form rather than as humans. Another fun aspect is that it takes place in the Stone Age. This gave the book a unique perspective and the author did a great job at assuming those roles.
I was able to connect with the MC’s right away and I think you are going to love them just as much as I do!
I’ve also become very fond of short serials and this being the first in a trilogy fit that bill perfectly. The author is in your face unapologetic about creating a fantasy world that is different, sometimes dark and a little scary and not afraid to tell their story the way they want it told. I found the world building easy to follow and I admit, I’m intrigued. I can’t wait for the next installment.
This is an author that you’ll want to keep your eyes on!
