Wendy reviews ‘Carter’ (Mayfair Model Series Book 2) by Claire Castle. Self published September 2, 2019.

Stylish model, Carter Hamilton, has had his fair share of excitement and regrets throughout his life. Now at Mayfair Models, he’s finally found his true calling.
While he misses some parts of his past, mostly he’s locked the rest of it all away and focuses on the here and now. But just when things are easy and uncomplicated, a ghost from long ago makes an appearance.

Jet setting around the world, Jamieson Ward loves his life as a flight attendant. He’s the funny, happy-go-lucky life of the party. That is, until his present and past collide when, Carter, his first true love from a lifetime ago, re-enters his life.

The passage of time has changed their lives, turning them both into the successful men they are today. Is it too late to rekindle their relationship after years of no contact and too many secrets kept hidden? Is it even worth the risk?

Why I read this book: I read and enjoyed the first book in this series so I was excited to read and review this installment.

These boys have a history. This is a love lost and found romance filled with drama (and by this I mean that the characters are dramatic), angst and some very frustrating moments for me as these two seemed to do everything in their power to not be hurt again. It was a wild ride reading this one folks. Did I mention that the MCs in this story frustrated me? I mean that but it was in the best way. I was invested in their outcome and that means that Claire Castle created characters that I cared about otherwise I wouldn’t have wanted to jump into the book and shake sense into them both lol.

I love that Marshall, Stuart and even Jess made several cameo appearances in this book. They were as much a part of the story as Carter and Jamieson and it was the perfect call because they rounded out the story.

I really like the uniqueness from this author. The premise is fresh and Claire has a certain style that captures the audience. Something special that no other author has. A very pure and innocent sense of goodness that she installs in each of her characters.

The world of the Mayfair Models that she’s created is fantastic and I hope there will be many more stories in this series.

9/10 Pots of Gold or 90% recommended

Claire Castle grew up surrounded by books. She has loved reading for her whole life. Her true love is romance and HEAs. When she’s not reading or writing, she can be found wearing comfortable leggings, drinking mocha and petting her west highland terrier. She loves collecting awesome mugs and paperbacks of her favorite stories.
