Why I read this book: From that cover alone, I knew I had to have this one.
I may be young, but I know what I want.
I yearn to be submissive, both in and out of the bedroom. There’s nothing I crave more than being under the control of another man. Handing over power would fulfill a need I feel down to the marrow of my bones.
What I don’t know is how to get it. This kind of relationship requires complete trust – something I don’t give to anyone except my only friend.
Then along comes Dr. Aidan Kingsley. For the third time in my life, he helps me, without even knowing it, and someone like that, I can’t help but believe in. This is the man I’m meant to be on my knees for. Aidan is meant to be my Sir.
Aidan
I’ve never had a full-time submissive.
I’ve certainly never had a houseboy, but when I meet Finley, I can’t seem to turn him away.
Instead, I decide to keep things simple, showing Finley that he can take pride on his knees but also stand on his own. He takes care of my home, and he gives me control, in a strictly platonic way, even though he wants more. He’s so beautiful, so naturally submissive, that I’m having a hard time sticking to my rules.
The more he flourishes and the more he craves from me, the tougher I find it to deny him. Before I know it, he’s under my skin. In my bed and in my heart. It wasn’t supposed to go this far. I was only supposed to give him the tools he needed to find his own strength, yet somehow, in the finding of Finley, I found myself too.
But my precious boy is only 20, 19 years my junior. And as I’ve told him, forever is a long time, and nothing in life is guaranteed.
Finding Finley contains various kinks, domestic discipline and a 19-year age gap. Please take that into consideration before deciding if this book is for you.

My review:
Some authors stick to their narrow lanes because they’re good at it, and they’re served creatively by producing the same great books over and over. Some authors push themselves and take risks by moving into other subgenres or even new genres altogether. Some readers reward authors when they take risks, while others want their favorite authors to stick to what they’re good at. What they’re known for.
Personally, I like when authors step out of their wheelhouses to do passion projects.
I believe Finding Finley was a passion project for Ms. Hart. It certainly doesn’t resemble any of her previous works, many of whom I’ve enjoyed. When I read the synopsis for this book, I was intrigued. When I heard it was coming to audio, I was elated. When I got a copy and listened to it, I was ecstatic.
Frankly, I loved this book. I believe there are people who step into our lives at just the right time and can profoundly change how we view the world. Aidan is, to Finley, that person. Finley’s had a rough go of it. He’s been rejected by those who were supposed to love him. Abandoned by the one he loved the most (even if it wasn’t her fault), and rejected again for who he was. He’s survived but hasn’t been living a happy life. Until fate brings him to Dr. Aidan Kingsley’s feet for the third time (in a manner of speaking).
Aidan has a good life. He’s a successful trauma surgeon, has a close personal friend, and has availed himself of several submissives over the years. But none have touched his heart. His crossing paths with Finley might be accidental, but their chemistry is off the charts. Except Aidan is an established Dominant and more than nineteen years Finley’s senior. He’s not over the hill by any extent of the imagination, but he’s having a hard time picturing himself comfortably with the much-younger man. A young man who has no experience in so many realms.
But Finley is stubborn. He’s attracted to Aidan physically, to be sure, but the connection is deeper than that. He wants to serve Aidan. His kink involves complete submission. Sure he’s only ever seen it on the internet, but he’s old enough to know his own mind. Serving Aidan isn’t easy, though. He’s strict with exacting standards. But Finley is dedicated to being the best house servant he can be. And if that moves into the bedroom, all the better.
This book held a special place with me because there were parts of Finley I could definitely relate to. And Aidan’s need to nurture also spoke to me. I liked how Aidan was willing to do anything to give Finley what he most wanted. What he most needed.
This book worked for me on many levels and I’m hopeful there will be at least one more in the series. I mean, David needs a happy ending too, right? The book was narrated by Michael Dean who is one of my favorite narrators. He always does a stellar job and this book was no exception. I’m looking forward to more books by Ms. Hart. And if they happen to be kinky, that’s okay with me.
