The cover: I love the concept behind the cover. At the end of the book the men of The Dark Angels are taking photos for the Life’s A Drag tour they will be embarking on, and the cover reflects the photo shoot. I have to say that it’s very sexy.
The review: This is a short, delightful treat for the readers of The Dark Angels series. If you haven’t read the previous books yet I recommend it. If there was any rock band featured in a book that I wish were real it would be The Dark Angels. Angel’s forthright sexuality, Dare’s duality of masculinity and femininity, Josh’s protective love for Robin, Robin’s vulnerable sexiness, and Dusty’s wit, sarcasm, and helpfulness. The band’s antics on stage and in real life would be delicious to watch in real life.
In book 2, Tied Together we met Uncle Leo, the man who took in Robin and Josh. Though the band members spiritual beliefs are never really discussed, Uncle Leo celebrates Hanukkah, so Josh and Robin plan eight nights of sexy gift giving. Each night, a different couple is viewed opening and using their gifts. These moments are not merely erotica, though they are steamy. The reader also gets to see intimate moments and the growth of their relationships.
Besides our three established couples, Angel and Dare, Robin and Josh, and Dusty and Justin, there are side characters we’ve come to care about featured in this book. Uncle Leo for one as well as his son Sean and a down-on-his-luck man Uncle Leo took in named Jack. There is attraction between Sean and Jack but the two fight it as much as they can, but with some help from the boys in the band they find the way to each other despite themselves.
Dusty’s younger brothers, Zack and Jordon are also present for the holiday celebrations. Jordon is still struggling with trust after he was attacked, while Zack is doing his best to avoid Justin’s brother, Andrew. Andrew doesn’t want to corrupt Dusty’s younger brother, but by treating him as a child he is possibly missing his own chance at happiness and driving Zack to discovering his sexuality and bdsm tendencies on his own or worse, with someone who is not Andrew.
I was so happy to revisit the boys in the band and see where there futures were heading as well as the teases of the secondary characters love lives. I can only hope for more from these characters in future books. I completely fell in love with all of them.
