Synopsis:

Cartoonist Alexis Rhodes is well-known and very popular in his small community. Not only is he a gay activist, but he also teaches art at the local elementary school. A freelance artist, Alexis works from his home, and when he gets bored watching and drawing cartoons he cooks for his friends and visits the bars near the beach. It’s on one of those occasions he meets the very attractive Madison Alleman, and has a one night stand. Things get complicated when Madison moves into the building Alexis lives in, but one-night-stand or not, the attraction is still strong. Will the fact that Madison has a six year old son make a difference in Alexis’s pursuit?

*****

The cover of this book is gorgeous, very simple yet very eye catching.

This is a new author to me, the writing style was very hard to read in places. In parts of the book the words flowed freely in other parts they felt a little stiff, there was a lot of inconsistency with things like can and can’t through out the whole book, I can’t say if it was deliberate or not, but the inconsistant use of contractions interrupted the flow of the story for me and made the writing seem stiff in places.
The other problem I had with this book was it needs editing, there were a good few editing errors.

I quite enjoyed this love story, it had a very slow build up to a great HEA. We see Alexis and Madison meet in a bar and give in to lust, resulting in a one night stand.
Alexis wishes he got Madisons name and number, Madison realises he is defiantly Gay. The sex was very hot in places, this wasn’t over done, it fit the book perfectly.
Imagine the shock they both got when they realise they both now live in the same building and Madison has a six year old son.

It was interesting following the guys as they stumble from lust to love. This is a very sweet love story with very little angst.
I would recommend to those that want to read a little love…..
