This book was provided free of charge for an honest review by the author. 😉

Why I read this book: I like to try books by new to me authors… I also love the book cover, its stunning.

Jake Hunter has made it to New York City and is ready to turn his dream of making it as an actor into a reality. So far, everything is going according to his grand plan. He’s landed a job waiting tables, found the perfect little apartment, and he’s head over heels for his new boyfriend, Evan.

Evan is the perfect guy: sweet, sexy, caring, and so much more, but meeting Marcus Solomon changes everything.

Marcus, a mogul in the world of high-end fashion, is immediately bewitched by Jake and sets his mind to turning him into a sensation. Marcus is an enigma to Jake: He sleeps with men, but is married to the aristocratic Caroline Westin-Solomon, a cool and refined force of nature. He’s a man who uses his influence and wealth to get what he wants. And now, it seems there’s nothing he won’t do to make Jake happy and turn him into a star.

All of Jake’s dreams are within reach…but at what cost?

8/10 Pots of Gold

Jake is a young naive guy, he wants to be an actor, he wants shine. What he does get after meeting Marcus is not the life he wants. Working all the hours god sends to please Marcus. All he seems to end up doing is to make himself unhappy. When he tries to put things right his world explodes.
Marcus sees something he likes and he wants it. He doesn’t seem to care who he hurts in the process…. Not my favourite character in the book. He lies and cheats for the sake of his image.
Evan is a sweet waiter, he is saving to open his own restaurant. When he meets Jake the lust does fly. I do like Evan. He is what I would call a dependable guy, one you can rely on if you ever needed too.
When things go wrong in a big way you do find out who your friends are…. A great story of fame, fortune, fashion, greed and infidelity.
A great rags to riches story with a lot of intrigue along the way.
This author is very new to me, I enjoyed his writing style, the story flowed seamlessly. Yes there were a couple of points that I disliked but that is down to personal preference. I don’t care for cheating or drugs, these two points didn’t make me enjoy the book less.
Overall, an interesting read, very different characters, a good storyline and plot.
I would recommend this book….
