This book is part of a collection of short stories in the Mate Series. This is the only one I have read and I didn’t feel as though I was missing anything by not reading the other books!
The story is complete without any cliffhangers which is a big plus for me.
Before I started reading this short story I was expecting 28 sex filled pages and drowning in lust. Oh my how wrong was I. This author is new to me, I found the writing style flows very easily making a very easy to read short story.
Beaker is a werewolf, he is attacked by members of the pack. He drags himself to woods and to a small cabin.
Carson is a vet on vacation in a small cabin, he heres a noise outside, on opening the door he finds an injured animal.
The fact that there are only 28 pages threw me a little, I found there is a strong storyline and a plot. It doesn’t feel rushed in any way as sometimes happens with books this size. The two MC’s are very likeable, the sex is sizzling in places but it doesn’t overshadow the story in any way.
Overall a fast paced short story that is very easy to follow.
This is one author I am looking forward to reading more.

  1. This is a new author for me too. I love shifter stories and finding out that it’s a more developed story than expected makes me want to read it more.
