Exiled by his pack as a teen, Omega wolf Simon Moorehead learns to bury his gentle nature in the interest of survival. When a hulking, rough-faced Alpha catches Simon on pack territory, he tries to escape what he’s sure will be imminent death. But instead of killing him, the Alpha takes Simon home.

A man of action, Mitch Grant uproots his life to support his brother in leading the Blue Mountain pack. Mitch lives on the periphery, quietly protecting everyone, but always alone. A mate is a dream come true for Mitch, and he won’t let little things like Simon’s rejections, attacks, and insults get in their way. With patience, seduction, and genuine care, Mitch will ride out the storm while Simon slays his own ghosts and Mitch’s loneliness.

Review

Mitch is an alpha wolf shifter. He followed his twin brother, Frederick, to Blue mountain when Freddie took over the pack. Mitch is known for his intimidating, aggressive nature and his fierce need to protect the pack.

One night, four members of the pack came to let them know there is a shifter trespassing on their lands. Both Mitch and Freddie could scent the other wolf on the men. Mitch wondered if it could it be true, is the mate he has dreamed of finding for so long really be there on Blue Mountain Territory. When Mitch arrives to where the other wolf is, he no longer has any doubt. Mitch is ecstatic that he finally found his mate. Unfortunately, his mate isn’t feeling the same. Mitch is nothing but determined to get through to Simon. He is his mate after all.

Simon is a gay omega wolf. At a young age, Simon was hurt and wronged by his pack. Since then he has had to be strong and set aside his omega nature in order to survive. When he is confronted by the huge alpha wolf he knows the outcome can’t be good. Simon is on their territory without permission. He tries to fight and escape but all attempts were fruitless. Knowing his fate, Simon is determined to die fighting. Only what happens is very the opposite. The alpha takes Simon to his house. No matter how much Simon fights and how hard he tries to reject him, Mitch is gentle, patient and caring. Simon wonders if this all could be true. Can he trust his senses? Is Mitch really be who he says he is and not out to hurt or trick him? Is he finally safe and able to be the wolf he was always meant to be?

The more I read by Cardeno C. the bigger fan I become. Shifter books have become a favorite of mine and Blue Mountain doesn’t disappoint. I adore both of these men. Watching as Simon finally lets go of his fear to become the Omega and mate he was meant to be was such a joy to watch. Mitch was intimidating and aggressive but when it came to Simon he was the opposite. He was patient, loving, and very sweet. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

If you love a short sweet MM shifter story then I highly recommend Blue Mountain by Cardeno C.

cardeno-c-logoCardeno C. – CC to friends – is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few “awwws” into a reader’s day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno’s stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Cardeno’s Home, Family, and Mates series have received awards from Love Romances and More Golden Roses, Rainbow Awards, the Goodreads M/M Romance Group, and various reviewers. But even more special to CC are heartfelt reactions from readers, like, “You bring joy and love and make it part of the every day.”
